Speak of the Devil Lyrics
i think its being sang from 2 differnt points of view like the first part:
Trying to find a way getting better everyday and I got you now I'm not alone All I need in this life is one one thing to believe in
that is being sung by someone that is being sent to hell, but the rest of the song is being sung by the devil saying he has given the person another chance and they blew it. but they are trying to plead their innocence. and they are trying to convince the devil to let them go free or whatever...
So i think this whole song is sung from two diffrent views, Deyrick(ik i spelled his name wrong) and The Devil. I'll list what i think:
(Deyrick) Trying to find a way Getting better every day And I got you now I'm not alone All i need in this life is one, One thing to believe in (he needs something to believe in, finlially relizeing there is more to life)
(the devil) I've seen many a face From young and too old I've stolen their faith and I have broken their souls Was here before Christ had forgave you your sins And paid your price and sealed your fate within Days have come to an end Today's the day that we meet again The self inflicted inebriation guilt never lies (the devils being all nice and saying look how good i am i was here before Christ)
(devil) I've been waiting for the chance to reunite this sick romance Poison never hurt so good So nice of you to speak of me Your closest friend and enemy An only savior of masochists (I've got you in my hold, thank you for paintin me in a good light)
(Deyrick) Well its the dead end slave From the alter to the grave It's the last days of our life The faith of men (Deyrick saying its hard to know what is right and what is true and what to believe in)
(Deyrick) Time, its been so long And now there's nothing to say I'm trying so hard to find the words to say I'm tired of being, now I'm something I'm not I can't believe and I never thought Days would come to an end Well maybe someday we'll meet again If ever that day never comes It would be too soon My love (I never thought this is how everything would end, if i never had to meet you (devil) id b fine with that)
(devil) I've been waiting for the chance to nullify this sick romance Pull the cord to detonate So sick of you don't speak of me No represent of misery An only savior of masochists (i tricked you and now your mine, dont speak of me, i dont care for you)
Well its the dead end slave From the alter to the grave It's the last days of our life Well its the dead end slave From the alter to the gray It's the last days of our life The faith of men
Now I've found a way Getting better every day And I got you now I'm not alone All I need in this life is one One thing to believe in

This is one of the best ways to think of it!

Corrections: Pull the cord to deadening = Pull the cord to detonate
You're no weak savior = You're nobody's savior
There might be a couple more I got wrong. But yeah, love this song.
My fav. song...I just love it...makes me think about plenty of stuff
I love the chorus. :D
Couple of words I think he's actually saying: "and paid your price and sealed your fate with them" I think its: "and paid your price and sealed your fate within"
Other than that, you did a fantastic job, better than what I came up with ;D
i think its alter to the grave instead of ultra to the grave

blink 182 anyone? not bad. just...similar.
@drummerman91 i was thinking the exact same thing. Btw love this song

Instead of: Whenever that day never comes I think it's IF EVER that day never comes...
So...anyones interpretation on it???
Reply to drummerman91 I think this CD has many elements of Blink-182. There is something about this song that strikes a chord with me like I' know this song from somewhere else. I plan to look through my Blink-192 and Sum 41 collection to see which songs are similar.
