This moment went by too fast
It slipped right through both our hands
im still pretty but i feel like a car crash
pull me over to the side of the road
i dont need you
but i hate that you feel like home

if this is what you want to be
then be it without me
then i dont need you
no, no, then i dont need you at all
if this is what you want to be
then be it without me
then i dont need you
no, no, then i dont need you at all

then i dont need you at all

i took the last of his cash
its only resin and ash
im still pretty but you already knew that
already knew
in 20 years well wake up in bed
ask me if i even care
i wont be there but youll hate that im in your head

if this is what you want to be
then be it without me
then i dont need you
no, no, then i dont need you at all
if this is what you want to be
then be it without me
then i dont need you
no, no, then i dont need you at all

then i dont need you at all
no no no
i dont need you at all

let me tell you something
youre crazy youre crazy
youre selfish youre selfish
you make me so helpless
you make me so helpless
youre crazy youre crazy
youre selfish youre selfish
you make me so helpless
i hate who i have to be with out you next to me
i hate who i have to be without you letting me
but youre crazy youre crazy
youre selfish youre selfish
you make me
you make me

if this is what you want to be
then be it without me
then i dont need you
no, no, then i dont need you at all
if this is what you want to be
then be it without me
then i dont need you
no, no, then i dont need you at all

no no no

no no oh

then i dont need you at all

i love this song with a passion. one of the best break-up songs i've heard. you tell yourself over and over and over how much you don't need someone, but you know you do, and you left that unsaid.

a lot of these lyrics are messed up. "i took the last of his cash" is supposed to say "i took the last HIT IT'S CASHED" it's referring to smoking weed.

"I don't need you But I hate that you feel like home"

I love that line. So powerful. It shows how much she wants, needs him, but she wishes so bad she didn't. So she trys to convince herself she doesn't.

Pretty much what the whole song is about, they're both trying to convince themselves & each other they don't need the other. Wonderful song.

Amazingly sick! That's a great mind set to have. "The only people you need in your life are the ones that prove to you that they need you in theirs"

"I don't need you but I hate that you feel like home" Powerful song. I love it!

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
