Walking Disaster Lyrics
I haven't been home for a while
I'm sure everything's the same
Mom and Dad both in denial
An only child to take the blame
Sorry, Mom, but I don't miss you
Father's no name you deserve
I'm just a kid with no ambitions
Wouldn't come home for the world
Never know what I've become
The king of all that's said and done
The forgotten son
This cities buried in defeat
I walk along these no-name streets
Wave goodbye to all
As I fall
At the dead-end I begin
To burn a bridge of innocence
Satisfaction guaranteed
A pill-away catastrophe
Our own mission nowhere bound
Inhibitions underground
A shallow grave I
Have dug all by myself
And now I've been gone for so long
I can't remember who was wrong
All innocence is long gone
I pledge allegiance to a world of disbelief
Where I belong
A walking disaster
The son of all bastards
You regret you made me
It's too late to save me
(You regret you made me
It's too late to save me)
As far as I can tell
It's just voices in my head
Am I talking to myself?
'Cause I don't know what I just said
(And she said)
As far as where I fell
Maybe I'm better off dead
Am I at the end of nowhere
Is this as good as it gets?
And now I've been gone for so long
I can't remember who was wrong
All innocence is long gone
I pledge allegiance to a world of disbelief
Where I belong
A walking disaster
The son of all bastards
You regret you made me
It's too late to save me
(To save me, to save me, to save me)
("It's too late") [Repeat: x2]
To save me, to save me, to save me, to save me
And now I've been gone for so long
I can't remember who was wrong
All innocence is long gone
I pledge allegiance to a world of disbelief
Where I belong
A walking disaster
The son of all bastards
You regret you made me
It's too late to save me
I will be home in a while
You don't have to say a word
I can't wait to see you smile
Wouldn't miss it for the world
I will be home in a while
You don't have to say a word
I can't wait to see you smile
Wouldn't miss it for the world

This song really changed how I viewed Sum 41. Previous to hearing this song on Pandora, I only listened to two Sum 41 songs (In Too Deep & Fat Lip) and my opinion of the band was "bleh".
The song obviously has heavy blink influences, and I really respect Sum 41 for it. The only concern I have is if they wrote this song with their heart or head. Blink's songs were all written from the heart, as nearly every serious song they wrote had been inspired from experiences in at least one of the band member's life, or about something in their life. You have these kind of bands (blink, hopefully Sum), and bands that write stuff with their head, having no passion about it, other than to make money. Hopefully this new album's style sticks and Sum stays with it, 'cause I like it.
Its pretty simple, It's all about a kid who runs away from home and how he hates the household he had to live in. But it also shows the bright side of, as he grows older he creates his own life and moves on to forget about his past, probably moving in with a girl and moving past and now he has people in his life that have earned his company and friendship instead of the whole, "I'm your mom/dad" line.
I've never seen the actual lyrics, but it sounds like he says: "In regret you may be, its to late to save me", and I know FOR SURE he says "It's too late to save me (And he said) As far as I can tell..." listen, youll hear it.
This songs is kind of very Blikish to be honest but its one of the best Sum 41 songs ever made I love it, also I get so freakin much feelings when I listen to it thou...the first vers about the mom and dad stuff feels so weird to read the text while your live is kind of thisame anyway! GOOD song :D hihi
"And only jump to take the blame" I think should be turned to "An only child to take the blame"... is there a way to edit? I've been waiting to for it to come up so I could fix it.
and I love this song, I was kind of scared of the style they were going for cause it seemed too down... which really doesn't bother me but it could have bothered others... but the ending seems happy and made it perfect. Love this song.

Yeah, I agree nash. It's really cool to see the sums returning to their musical roots so to speak. Kinda reminds me of their first album but with an added maturity that they've definitely gained over the years. SUM 41 forever!
i nearly shat my self when i started listenin to this but thank god it wasn' all slow and sappy... alright song although far from their best in my opinion
oh yea the first time i heard this song i thought it was gonna b one of "those" but then i heard that awesome guitar solo and I knew it wasn't!

Their entire new album is about POLITICS SUCKS!
Yes if you read the lyrics in this song you clearly see it's all about politics... same with underclass hero ya know... it's really all about Bush and Deryck hasn't even said over and over again "this album is not all politics." March of the Dogs is the only political song we've heard from it and they said there weren't any more.
