The River Sings Lyrics
[English Translation]
Our words go beyond the moon.
Our words go into the shadows.
The river sings the endlessness.
We write of our journey through night.
We write in our aloneness.
We want to know the shape of eternity.
Who knows the way it is?
Who knows what time will not tell us?
Mountains, solitude and the moon
until the journey's end?
The river holds the lost road of the sky;
the shape of eternity?
Who knows the way it is?
Who knows what time will not tell us?
Where is the beginning?
Where is the end?
Why did we fall into days?
Why are we calling out into the endlessness?
Who knows the way it is?
Who knows what time will not tell us?

This is a Native American spiritual song that asks "How can anyone know where Life begins and where Life ends?" The River sings about the Circle of Life as well as calling us to our destiny in Life. The Great Creator has each given us a unique gifts for His purpose and to do His Will here on Earth.
It has very little do with 'His' purpose or 'His' will.
In my opinion It has lot more to do with the Human person's quest for knowledge what cannot be revealed. It is a pretty song. Enjoy it for yourself and ask the questions. There are no wrong answers and it does not require a God!
Why does anything and every thing have to do with a God? By the way Enya is not part of the Native American culture. All cultures ask these questions.
God is a theory purported by weak minded humans to control each other.
