Diamonds and Why Men Buy Them Lyrics

Oh no, here we go again
I took to receive what the earth and sea had thought it’d be best not to even give me, even give me
Now you say that I never bother you the way he did
Now open eyes
Now I saw the moon divorce the sky
Is this what it’s like?
Don’t run
Spell out, spell out, spell out to me, babe
So every week we’ll meet
A bed for the backseat
A love drunk memory
But such a beautiful routine
Now you say that I never bother you the way he did
Bow open eyes
Now I saw the moon divorce the sky tonight
This remedy is worse than the disease
And slowly killing me
We like the run our blood thin
And laugh at the things we never did
We like to run our blood thin
And laugh at things
Resay, say hello
Now you say, “We’re better off that way”
Now I saw the moon divorce the sky
Is this what it’s like?

he is the other man and is trying to convince her to divorce her husband and be with him. she always seems to complain about her husband to him. She leaves her husband to be with him but then he realizes that he didn't really love her and they were better off as lovers.

i dont think shes married, but its obvious hes the other guy: "so every week we'll meet, a bed for the backseat"

Firstly, I think he says: "Please say", not resay. Secondly, in my opinion, this song is about an actual relationship and she broke up with him, but he wants her back, because he never stopped loving him. Probably, he is "the sky" and she's "the moon" and he asks if "this what it's like ?" meaning, is this the way it feels when you have a broken heart ?

This is my interpretation based on the fact that I feel like I have gone through a very similar feeling. This song is about him and his ex gf who are still close but not actually dating / belong to each other. He wants a real relationship but she is keeping him at a distance. They meet and hookup in the car and hangout and reminisce like lovers do, but shes too busy having interest in another guy. (sometimes its hard to stop sleeping with an ex when you breakup, its just nice to forget your differences and be intimate) Anyways running their blood thin mean getting drunk, your blood thins with alcohol. The remedy is still having sex with her but its bad cause it only makes him want her more. Thats what the song means to me anyways, and it always reminds me of an ex gf, well every ptv song does that for me haha

I'm actually pretty sure this song is about being the other guy. Like the girl is married, but she's cheating on him with the guy who's perspective the song is from. They're using his backseat because they can't go anywhere else and their affair is a routine. And the disease is love and the remedy is sex but because it isn't with her significant other it's bad. And she's telling him he doesn't bother her like he did. If this is really what it's about the title fits too. Because he's asking like why do guys get married when they're girl is really sleeping around.

"We like the run our blood thin And laugh at the things we never did"

someone care to elaborate on this? :)

it sounds to me like he says "Spell love"

Never stopped loving her* [not him]

"Don't run" - he wants her to stay "I saw the moon divorce the sky" - he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, thinking she was his soulmate "This remedy is worse than the disease, it's slowly killing me" - maybe the disease is his love for her and the remedy might be cutting/drinking/smoking ? "We like to run our blood thin and laugh at things we never did" - I assume they remained friends and it hurts him badly "Now you say we're better off that way" - possibly, when she broke up with him, she told him that they're better off as friends

My Interpretation

"This remedy, is worse than the disease, and its slowly killing me." - I always thought that the remedy was cutting/drinking/smoking but that the disease was the feeling he got for wanting something he couldn't have. Like the depressed, at-war-with-yourself feeling. Not sure if the remedy or the disease is killing him, but either could qualify.
