For God and Country Lyrics

I want to live for God and country
I want to give for God and country

It's too late for some
It's too late for what you've done
I can't help what I divide in you

For God and country I'll fight
For God and country I'll die
For God and country my soul is so alive
My soul is so alive
Lay down your arms to me
Lay down your arms for God and country

I want to live where no one's watching my way home
I want to give until I'm bursting with unknown

It's too late for some
It's too late for everyone
I can't help what I destroy in you

Well who needs this anymore?
C'mon make it so
That's when they build their cross of death
You won't build your own

It's time to wake up
It's time to wake up for good
I can't help you though I should

For God and country we'll fight
For God and country we'll die
For God and country my soul is so alive
My soul is so alive
Lay down your arms to me
Lay down your arms for God and country

You can't deny God and country
We're fighting for our lives
You can't deny God and country
Our souls are so aligned
In this time of God and country
We'll take you on our side
It's alright

My soul is so alive
With God and night
With God and country
My soul is so alive

Its about two basic topics: 1:Big Government 2:Stupid Wars

Billy said the main topic of Zeitgeist is how America is becoming more and more facsist and this song is really just anti-facism. NOT ant--american.

Rrgh, this song was completely ruined by the studio version. If you're reading this, go look up a live version of this song on youtube. The live versions are acoustic and much more personal and meaningful.

Comeback, I don't think it is at all. I don't think it's anti-american either though. I think Billy's more saying he'd be behind this war if it was really for God or Country, but it's not about either. But that's just my take on it. Some of the lyrics on Zeitgeist are a bit too vague >_

Now bear with me... I think this song is about america and how we have strayed from conservative princibles and away from personal responsibility.

"I want to live where no one's watching my way home"

And he's saying that we dont need the government to act like robinhood with their hands in our pockets, that we as a nation are generous enough to take care of our own poor becouse we recognize are all one as a nation. But the Government, by being robinhood, are ending that principle.

"I want to give until I'm bursting with unknown"

"It's time to wake up It's time to wake up for good I can't help you though I should"

"It's too late for some It's too late for what you've done I can't help what I divide in you"
