United States Lyrics

Tired eyes
Closed for days
There's no regret
'Cause there's no place
I don’t know
What I believe
But if I feel safe
What do I need

A home
A home
A home

Revolution
Revolution
Revolution blues
What will they do
Revolution
Revolution
Revolution blues
What will they do to me
What will they do to me
What will they do to me
what will they do to me

Dulcet tongues
Whisper fast
The future yearns
Right now’s the past
Rouse me soon
The end draws nigh
Who's side are you on
Your blood you cannot buy

Revolution
Revolution
Revolution blues
What will they do
Revolution
Revolution
Revolution blues
What will they do to you

Well I
I feel alright
So tonight
I got to ask you why
Why deny it
It's no surprise
I've got to survive

Freedom shines the light ahead
I'll lead the last charge to bed
I said my last rights
I don’t have to run scared no more

Fight
I wanna fight
I wanna fight a revolution
Tonight
I wanna fight
I wanna fight a revolution
Tonight
At the light
At the light
Do you wanna watch me die

Let me be something good
Let me prove something real like I should
Let me embrace every single living thing
Let me be every single moment I ever misunderstood

This is a nice and long song, but they've had longer ones. Glass and the Ghost Children (Machina) Porcelina Of The Vast Oceans (MCIS)

I like this song...if you think about it, the message isn't all that different than Tonight, Tonight. Tonight is about changing your own life, this one's just on a larger scale...a little more grown up, as they are now.

Relentless is the correct word to describe Chamberlain's drumming. He's just so solid.

-the Happiness Salesman

The story goes that the producer forced him to play it all in one pass, and they kept going til Jimmy's hands bled.

Not Valid

@euanelliot No, that was during either the Gish or Siamese Dream era, I believe. The real scoop is that Jimmy played this all in one take. Apparently, he doesn't hit the snare drum until somewhere at the six minutes.

seems like this album is more on the political side...

This is my favorite song on the album. Jimmy is relentless and Billy is at his best! "Who's side are you on, your blood you can not buy" says a lot to me. You can not choose what country you are born into, you are subject to the will of your country and its policies.

I love the vocals in this song, they remind me of Billy's solo album.

Love this song. simple. Angry as heck. and yeah the vocals on this are like the vocals on billy's solo album. But its the melody i've fallen in love with.

Chamberlain goes tribal? The drumming in this is neat. Best song on Zeitgeist imo
