Until She Comes Lyrics

Until she comes again
I can hear the things she said
I feel no thoughts to move my head
Until she comes again

And with her step, I move my feet
And with her hands, I feel my skin
And with her need, I find I'm saved
And with her dreams, I'm laid

Until she comes again
The sun goes out and night comes in
The time goes round and day grows dim
Until she comes again

And with her step, I move my feet
And with her hands, I feel my skin
And with her need, I find I'm saved
And with her dreams, I'm laid

Until she comes
Until she comes

Until she comes again
With all my saving and my sins
There's no good reason to begin
Until she comes again

And with her step, I move my feet
And with her hands, I feel my skin
And with her need, I find I'm saved
And with her dreams, I'm laid

Until she comes
Until she comes

Until she comes again
With all her dreams tied in her hand
There is no why to understand
Until she comes again

Until she comes again
The sun goes out and night comes in
The time goes round and day grows dim
Until she comes again

Beautiful song, specially when you miss someone that's very far away. Get this song and listen to it, if you haven't already!

In an interview Butler compared it to "Every Breath You Take" by the Police. He said it was about a stalker who was obsessed with a girl. His life did not exist without her.

"There's no good reason to begin Until she comes again"

My Interpretation

I guess it could be about missing someone who's far away, but it seems to me to be mostly about sex. It has the same double meaning as the Velvets' Here She Comes Now.

It is about stalking and dreaming a relationship with someone. Anyway it evocates to me a period in my life when me and my boyfriend broke up, and i really couldn't accept the fact that our story was over, I promised myself that I would always love him and i was sure that after some time we would be together again. Realizing that this wasn't true was the really painful part

My Opinion

On the surface, this song invokes longing and seems like a love song. It’s not. The song is about drug addiction. Richard Butler is quoted as saying that was the meaning of the song. (See Wikipedia) I was lucky enough to meet the Furs backstage; I think this is a classic for that period. But just like their other hit “The Ghost in You” their music is never what it seems. Incidentally, The Ghost in You was about how consumed the press was with Princess Diana and was written years before she died. (Ironic) The Psychedelic Furs even chose their name because Psychedelic anything in those punk days was so not cool. So this hauntingly beautiful tune is about drugs. “Until she comes again With all my savings and my sins There's no good reason to begin.”

This was the first song I had ever heard on the END in Seattle. Now they play crap music! But what a great song. I also love Heartbreak Beat.
