Carolyn's Fingers Lyrics

When he said, 'You are full of love'
She fell down into this dirty mess
Some people see me laugh and tell us,
'It's wrong to make fun of me'

(Even they don't give any more)
(Try, try to fall)
She fell down into this mess
(Even then they don't give)
(Try, try to fall)
She fell down and he's so sick of it all
And of me

This part not out of her saw fit to drop
Whispers might prove it all
(You're just closer to me when you fall, but you broke)
This would prove it all
(You just closer to me, but you broke)
This would prove it all
Sleep now
You sugar, try to talk
Reach out for that hand

Reach out for that hand
(And even they don't give any more)
(Try, try to fall)
Even then they don't give
(Try, try to fall)
You're just closer to me at the fall
But you don't want, want me hand
You're just closer to me
But you don't want, want my hand

I love how she can take 10 seconds to day "you."

Anyway, Elizabeth's voice amazes me. I wish I could sing that high. The way she sings is very unique and that's what makes the songs what they are.

This song is very pretty.

I thought it was called Carolyn's FingerS. Like plural. Anyway I love this song as well. For the longest time I didn't even know she was speaking English, haha. It makes me think of peace and happiness, like with a long time lover.

The song is about someone pursuing a person with (perhaps covert) low self-esteem and probably who falls under BPD/CPTSD umbrella.. oh the tortured artists and lovers! I make a lot of "guesses" but there is a lot of overlap with other songs by CT.\n\nWhen he said, \'You are full of love\' \nShe fell down into this dirty mess \nSome people see me laugh and tell us,\n\'It\'s wrong to make fun of me\'\n\nLine 1 is said privately between the two and is just him being open that he admires her as a person and wants to continue to know them., but "she" can\'t accept the compliment/attention healthily because EVERYTHING seems like a red flag due to past abuse, so now any kind of attention is highly suspicious and so she self-sabotages as a protective mechanism, likely doubting the presumably "platonic explorations" for some sort of "sexual seduction countdown plan"...\n\nLine 3-4 characterize the singer\'s lack of boundaries. Someone has witnessed the singer "passively" laughing along at a jab/joke made at their own expense and is reminding the singer to respect themselves. Maybe the joker was someone who has a lot of "influence" over the singer and subtly shames them in front of their crush?\n\nDue to past abuse, this person can\'t really function in a relationship healthily. It\'s the cliche of a person who thinks they have to "trick" the other person into a romantic relationship. At the end of the day the guy is crazy for "her" but the singer is just cycling through their old coping mechanisms that were great for surviving abusive jerks but highly confusing for this wonderful guy. Thus, the "but you don\'t want, want my hand".. conveniently ignoring all the attention they are receiving from them. It\'s an overly dramatic "will they or won\'t they" entirely due to low self-esteem. \n\nThe part about "proving" refers to how people with relationship trauma may need excessive levels of reassurance to even begin to "trust", often secretly testing their partner\'s "loyalty" by "acting out". \n\nOne song sung from the other person\'s perspective is Moody Blue as sung by Elvis Presley. Much more straightforrward than CT of course. \n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCNfVmbBXHQ
