Memory & Honesty Lyrics

I had a dream, it was lasting
it lasted the whole next day
i drempt you had left me,
and when i woke the mirror said to me
maybe, its true, it could be true

You were caring, you had honest eyes
you were perfect, the perfect surprise
and you hands went up my chest
and gave strongly around me,
you said babe, its true, im leaving you

I had a dream, it was lasting
it lasted the whole next day
i drempt you had left me,
and when i woke the mirror said to me
maybe, its true, it could be true

Honestly, I think this has literal meaning. When you really like someone and they leave you, the next day you wake up hoping it was all just a bad dream. She talks about the 'dream' lasting the whole next day, meaning she is imagining this whole bad situation is only a dream and that she'll eventually wake up. She goes about the day thinking and hoping that she's gonna wake up from this and find out it's not real. The mirror is her doubt, it's telling her maybe it is true and you aren't dreaming. The significance of him touching her is to prove that she is in fact awake.

Also, I think it's "and gave a stronghold on my neck" not "and gave strongly around me".

:/ this is scary and surreal because it can happen to anyone at any time in their relationship.

about feeling insecure in a relationship, yo... the mirror said to me, she's referring to how she thinks she's ugly.
