Caution: Dangerous Curves Ahead Lyrics

Oh! Yeah!
The ones who carry never back down
I want to be the bullet that brings you to your knees.
You ran, I'm still swinging.

Feel your insides as they grow weak,
Forgive me for this on the other side.
I won't hurt you.
Angel's a stage, that never-ending hell in your eyes.

You know what?
Fuck those secrets you regret.
Cause you always go back.
Give it some time, sweet one.
We'll show your soul for all who believe to see.
Your wrongs will not go away.
Hardt times are coming, you want to feel this.

Come a little closer, it's time you see these scars.
A true friend takes without giving.

Was it the while? Burning us up?
When the earth that bound us was more than words.
Hear us exclaiming the Savior as our own.
I have the book, and it's warned me of you.

Do you think hurting really helped?
Believe me, it's coming around.
When you panic tonight, just think of me.
When you panic tonight, just think of me.

"Was it worth the while burning us up. When the oath that bound us was more than words. Heretics claiming the Savior as their own. I have the book and it's warned me of you. And you think hurting me really helped. Believe me it's coming around. When you panic tonight just think of me."

Dallas using the word oath in this verse makes it obvious that it's about the old band. Calling them heretics, claiming the savior as their own. Claiming they are they evil ones that the bible warned him of. Quoting Aaron Gillespie's documented statement, "we had to hurt Dallas in order to help him", Dallas makes it blatantly obvious what his intentions of the song are. Closing the song stating "Believe me it's coming around. When you panic tonight, just think of me." I know what I would think if someone said that to me.

Dallas is great, the man conquered the music industry twice, and underoath are still riding his coat tails, not for long though. They are fading into dust. Just as Dallas predicted.

I really really think this song is about Dallas's conflict with the previous members in Underoath. Don't know if anyone else will read this but yeah :

Your wrongs will not go away. Hard times are coming. You wanna feel this. Come a little closer it's time you see these scars. A true friend takes without giving.

Criticizing his former "friends"? Maybe?

Was it worth the while burning us up. When the OATH that bound us was more than words. Heretics claiming the Savior as their own.

Not-so-subtle reference? He could be talking about the band members basically kicking him out and claiming the Savior as their own... Maybe?

And finally this: And you think hurting me really helped. Believe me it's coming around.

I heard on an interview with uhm.. The drummer of Underoath[the only original member left omgz @_@] said the band had to leave Dallas behind so that he could sort some things out in his life. Something along the lines of "We had to hurt him to help him" or something. Also, Underoath has the song "reinventing your exit", a song the drummer said was about the whole Dallas ordeal. So yeah, a stab back perhaps?

"I'm pretty positive a chrtistian band wouldn't rub heaven in the face of unsaven people, sometimes it's good to think inside the box"

wow dude lol thats pretty funny considering several things.. the first being that if you kno anything at all about maylene its that first and foremost they are a christian band.. they tell people they are a christian band.. their music sells at christian stores.. the screamer/writer and the dude that put the band together is a christian.. at their shows they talk about jesus christ.. their lyrics have strong religious views.. add all those things up.. YOU HAVE A CHRISTIAN BAND!!! lol i think its so funny when people act like they know what they are talking about.. especially to a bunch of christians who listen to and follow this band..

as to the im pretty positive a christian band wouldn't run heavin in "unsaven" (is that a word) people.. dude how do you think that most people come to kno christ in the first place? ya being a christian is about having a relationship with Him.. but every single person on the face of the earth is selfish.. thinks about their owns selves first and foremost.. so when a lot of people get saved its because of the heaven part.. the relationship with christ comes after you are saved but heaven is what draws a lot of people to become saved.. and one more thing..

again i'll quote you.. "I'm pretty positive a chrtistian band wouldn't rub heaven in the face of unsaven people"

if it wasn't a christian band.. why would they be talking about heaven?? lol come on dude i think its pretty obvious.. but anyways.. awesome song.. i can't wait to see them its gonna flippin sweet.. they're coming to town november 7th.. im so there its gonna be amazing!!!

The entire song "Caution, Dangerous Curves Ahead" is in retaliation to Underoath turning their backs on Dallas. It was Dallas' band, He was the original member. Aaron Gillespie wanted him out to take more creative control of the band, and took advantage of Dallas going through a rough time in his life to get him out of the band.

"The ones that carry never back down. I want to be the bullet that brings you to your knees. You ran,I'm still swinging."

Is a metaphor for the undying hatred Dallas expresses for Aaron and the rest of Underoath, as is the whole song and most of the album. Seeing as how Dallas is a christian, he had to disguise his hate deeply in his lyrics to avoid being callous.

"Feel your insides as they grow weak. Forgive me for this on the other side I won't hurt you. Angels a stage that never ending hell in your eyes."

Dallas has said in interviews that he has had dreams about what would become of underoath even after he left the band, this passage can be interpretted as one of these dreams where he invisions himself murdering Aaron and possibly even all of the members of Underoath, then asking god for forgiveness. Angels a stage means Underoath is using the christian scene to make it big, but is in fact not in touch with the christian lifestyle what so ever. He is ridiculing them for being posers. Tastefully of course.

"Your truth those secrets you regret, but you always go back. Give it sometime sweet one he'll show your soul for all who believe to see. Your wrongs will not go away. Hard times are coming."

This passage is where the song gets really blatant that it is about Aaron. Calling him a fake and a poser, that day his true self would be reveiled and that hard times are coming. Presumably for the band underoath.

"You wanna feel this. Come a little closer it's time you see these scars. A true friend takes without giving."

More lyrical stabbing at Aaron, and the band. Calling them out on not having any clue how he feels and not caring, claiming to be true friends, but really only caring about themselves... a pretty acurate depiction too.

I believe Dallas is talking about the struggle with Satan. " have the book and it's warned me of you". I believe this is talking about the Bible warning all followers of Christ of the temptations of Satan. However, Dallas is fighting back.

You may be right on the mark, but it could also possible be talking about the AntiChrist

i actually think it talks about women and the trouble they can get into you. especially the title "dangerous curves ahead" it sounds like its talking about a woman's curves.

I'm pretty sure UnderoathSC3 is right. xXx10290, i don't know how well you know the band but pretty much every song of theirs has to do with God. Which is great. We already have way too many songs about girls. :-)

this band is a musical irony

I dont think this is a Christian band, but Dallas Was part of Underoath, which Is a Christian band, so he may be slipping in some Christian themes right under our noses.
