i almost cried listening to this song. it reminds me exactly of my ex-boyfriend/first love who has just too many issues, he keeps coming to me for help and then just "running" away from me everytime. he won't let anybody help him.

Ryan is obviously talking about a girl, who always comes to him, then runs away. she calls him, telling him she is afraid, and wants to get out. the last chorus means that he realizes she cant be saved, and she wont let anyone save her.
I'm surprised this song doesn't have more comments. This is in my top 3 songs from Paper Walls...which really is saying a lot because it's my favorite cd so far.
I pretty much agree with most of what everybody's said. It's like she wants to be saved, but is too afraid to be. Basically, she's very insecure and can't make up her mind. She doesn't know if she wants commitment, she's afraid of herself and doesn't think anybody can save her. And in the end he realizes that even though he's been trying to hard to find her and save her, he can't help her if she doesn't want to be helped. "You'll never let yourself be saved"

i think this song maybe means that he is in love with this girl and he always takes her bak even tho she always runs away and then she tells him shes runs away becuz shes scard of commitment to him...shes afraid she wont be able "get out"

This song is about one of Ryans ex girlfriends from Florida. Before Writing Paper Walls he was living back home in Jacksonsville so im guessing its about a girl he continues to hook up with but she keeps leaving him and wont committ because shes "afraid" to let anyone in. Instead she continues to lead him on.
P.S Ryan now lives in L.A with his kid sister
