Lay Down Lyrics

Hidden Track on N.B.

Speechless
But the answer's in my mouth
Breathless
The emotions seeping out beyond my control
You spoke to my silence
Why so cold

You ask for peace, I give you war
While you let go, I hold too tightly
I take my aim, you hit the floor
I'm not ready to lay down my arms

Cracking
My defense is breaking down
The unravelling
Of a rope I've put around me
You won't take no for an answer

You ask for peace, I give you war
While you let go, I hold too tightly
I take my aim, you hit the floor
I'm not ready to lay down my arms

I didn't know I was missing out, til you lost and I, I won
You made me realize my incompleteness alone
Can no longer live by candlelight when you show me the sun

You ask for peace, I give you war
While you let go, I hold too tightly
I take my aim, you hit the floor
I'm not ready to lay down my arms

(Lay down)
While you let go
I hold on tightly
I take my aim you hit the floor
I'm not ready to lay down my arms

Cover art for Lay Down lyrics by Natasha Bedingfield

Mmmh. I think there are several mistakes in the lyrics, e.g. "You spoke to my silence, 'Why so cold?'" in the first verse... and "You ask for peace, I give you war" in the chorus... and "I didn't know I was missing out, til you lost and I, I won / You made me realize my incompleteness alone"

Anyway, right at this very moment, the song suits so perfectly to my situation. imo, it's about the relationship between two people, that are always fighting, and the one that's singing the song just can't give that up, continues to fight without wanting to ("Breathless, the emotions seeping out beyond my control"), although the other one is begging for peace.
