Pocket Full Of Stars Lyrics
I don't know who you are
And I don't know where you've been
Always out on your own
Always down on your knees
Now you know I need a miracle
A star crossed lover
An arrow in my heart
I need a rainy day in an endless summer
A pocket full of stars
Maybe you're just like me
You see faces in the crowd
Looking down at their feet
Never once make a sound
Now you know I need a miracle
A star crossed lover
An arrow in my heart
I need a rainy day in an endless summer
A pocket full of stars
I need a miracle
A star crossed lover
An arrow in my heart
I need a rainy day in an endless summer
A pocket full of stars
And I don't know where you've been
Always out on your own
Always down on your knees
A star crossed lover
An arrow in my heart
I need a rainy day in an endless summer
A pocket full of stars
You see faces in the crowd
Looking down at their feet
Never once make a sound
A star crossed lover
An arrow in my heart
I need a rainy day in an endless summer
A pocket full of stars
A star crossed lover
An arrow in my heart
I need a rainy day in an endless summer
A pocket full of stars

Haha. I can't believe more people havent commented on this song! Its fantastic really meaningful and emotional. I think its about this guy (or girl) who wants to meet the one they should be with the rest of their life, their true love, but doesnt know a thing about who she is or what she does or anything. All he knows is that he wants that one person to show herself, to complete him because he is yearning for her so much. Maybe he has just had a string of bad relationships and just desperately wants to meet his true love instead of these wrong choices and is crying out for a miracle so they can meet. Great song. Fantastic heart-wrenching emotion.
What you just said was amazing raidz 12. :D I couldn't have put it much better. I love the emotion this song has. It's... Freeking beautiful!!!

IF it wasn't for Surf's Up I would have enver heard this song. When you go through tough times, you tend to look to music (or atleast I do) and one time only this song could heal me. Everytime I listen to this hit hits a nerve of softspots. I once had it on repeat at night and my entire dream i was listening to it and I just sat and cried in the dream coz i was overwhelmed with all this emotion.
Anyway, About the lyrics. I always like to think lyrics aren't what I think they are. That they have a deeper meaning only relevant to the artist. I think in this case raidz 12 is right. If you look at the lyrics its undenaible that his theory is valid and most probably correct.
To me, everytime I hear the verse: "Maybe you're just like me You see faces in the crowd Looking down at their feet Never once make a sound"
I think of someone who may not understand the meaning of life, but understands that it shouldnt be spent working and working, just to earn a living rather than enjoying life. And all these people have just become drones to the system and have been brainwashed to work work work and conform and all they care about is how much money your neighbour has and making sure that you earn more, so you can brag about your house.
Don't know if I'm right, but it carries alot of emotion when i interperate it that way, because that is how I feel.
The first time I watched Surf's Up this song had me hooked. It's so beautiful and the Nine Black Alps' singer has such a perfect voice for the melody. I think the song is about a Man who is tired of fake love. He wants to find "the one" for him. Such as when he says "I don't know who you are, And I don't know where you've been." Even though he doesn't know who the person is, he still knows there is someone out there who is perfect for him. Also when he says, "I need a miracle, A star-crossed lover, An arrow in my heart." he is referring to the fact that he needs the love to happen imminently because he is tired of waiting. Knowing that won't happen, he needs a miracle, or his wishes to just come true. The song title/lyric: "A pocket full of stars" refers to wanting to have a bunch of wishes (shooting stars) in his pocket at his disposal to use. I also feel like these lyrics, "Maybe you're just like me, You see the faces in the crowd, Looking down at their feet, Never once make a sound." is talking about the fact that instead of looking for love, he is waiting for it to come to him. That's why he needs the wishes so he can just receive the love without having to go looking for it. And he is just wondering/hoping that there is someone else out there who is dealing with the same issue. But, that's just what I think.
I like to see a good hardcore discussion on a song like this one, when k092m says "great song" i can really see where he is coming from..
