First you said that you would never leave me
Merry were my days
Then you told me life is never easy
And left without a trace
But how come I want you
Like the soil yearns for the rain
Won't you light up
Won't you light up my life
Let my soul breathe
Tell me wrong, tell me right
You're my mind cage
Like a mountain far away
You were always there
Dressed in summer white
You will never know how much I miss you
Or open to my fear
Find the maze I made my way through
and enter if you dare
How come I want you
Like the soil yearns for the rain
Won't you light up
Won't you light up my life
Let my soul breathe
Tell me wrong, tell me right
You're my mind cage
Like a mountain far away
You were always there
Dressed in summer white
Remember my name
And paint the darkness with your light
Go sing your song for all the broken hearted
Like eden echoes in my head
The unforgiven gave you all
Won't you light up
Won't you light up my life
Let my soul breathe
Tell me wrong, tell me right
You're my mind cage
Like a mountain far away
You were always there
Dressed in summer white
Merry were my days
Then you told me life is never easy
And left without a trace
Like the soil yearns for the rain

I think this song is about the difficulties of "letting go" of a relationship. Especially if that person did not want it at all.
I think the song is called "Eden Echo" because the Garden of Eden was the embodiment of perfection.
I think he is referring to his lost love as perfect, but he understands that he shouldn't have her to himself, but wants her to remember him. And now that she's gone, all he has left are the echoes of her presence. These things, I think, are evidenced by the lines "Remember my name/ And paint the darkness with your light/ Go sing your song for all the broken hearted/ Like Eden echoes in my head"
These are all just speculations, I don't know for sure what it is about. It is a very pretty song though.
One of my favorite tracks on the new album, just got back from seeing them live a few hours ago too - they ruled, the last date of the american Ghost Opera tour down here in Houston - brilliant live band as well. Had a lot of fun (too bad they didnt play this track though)
I agree with HERSELF. This song reminds me so much of my own failed relationship. The feelings of abandonment and desire are so palpable in this song it gives me chills.
