Rule the World Lyrics

When a new day reaches dawn
I feel it's worth the wait
But I tumble and I fall
When up against my fate

When the barricades come down
I build them up again
When I'm just about to drown
I still don't know the end

Sometimes I tremble like a little child
That faces morning with a broken smile
Sometimes I crumble when the shades unfurl
Sometimes I feel that I could rule the world

When the morning comes alive
Release your love brigade
At the end of day is night
To suck it up with hate

Sometimes I tremble like a little child
That faces morning with a broken smile
Sometimes I crumble when the shades unfurl
Sometimes I feel that I could rule the world

I love the horror violin sounds in this song, it really emphasises the lyrics.

to me the song is refering to everyday feelings people go threw

'Sometimes I tremble like a little child' [fear] 'that faces morning with a broken smile" [sad] "sometimes I crumble when the shades unfurl" [depression] 'sometimes I feel like I can rule the world' [happy]

I dunno, to me personally it sounds alot like it's about living with Bipolar Disorder because I seem to have a relatively normal, happy mood during the day, but my emotions become negative going into the evening. (like the verse after the first chorus) sometimes I feel incredibly weak and don't even wanna look out at the world outside the window of my room "Sometimes I crumble when the shades unfurl" and sometimes I feel so incredibly fantastic and confident in myself, that I can do anything. "Sometimes I feel that I could rule the world" I don't know, that's just what it personally means to me...

Don't think it means bipolar disorder in particular... it just refers to what you just said. we all feel sometimes that everything i great. we can rule the world. but sometimes we don't even want to see ourselves in the mirror. everything i scary. you get me?

To me the song by itself most definately means what type of feelings we have in life but combined with the music video it takes on a slightly different meaning. Combined with the video i think the song is talking about our feelings still but our felings during before and after indulging in pleasures, pleasures suck as those shown in the video(im asuming that was some kind of like opium den). Before you feel week and feeble, druing you fel you could rule the world and after you fel so horrible you cant stand it. Thats what the song has shown itself to me as.(Combined with the video as well.)

I'm with BloodRider on this one. It seems to be mainly about the exhilaration they get while performing.

This song could def. be interpreted in so many ways, can relate to alot of things. When I saw the music video in the opium den, I related this song to drug use. That even when your about to drown you still don't know to stop, you feel like you could rule the world, then the next minute your crumbling. Even though, you have to wait in pain till your next fix, its worth it when you get there. It probably isnt the true meaning of the song, but thats what I think of when I hear it.
