This song "Dice" portrays a message between two shy lovers.
The shy girl is wondering how it would be like to take a chance- neglecting what others may think, what society standards are- "seizing the opportunity" to convey to the guy her true feelings for him. Likewise, the guy is feeling the same way as she does. Yet, whenever the chances come "dice" she and he can't seem to come to words, and the only thing that they could come close to words was simply conveyed through a smile. "Although we smiled, there were no words left to say..." Chances keep coming, "only once not twice." They are hoping that by the "mercy of dice" chances would keep coming until they could eventually be able to express their true feelings for each other.
