The Eleventh Hour Lyrics

We’ve heard the sound that ears bleed to hear.
The sound of a place the entire universe awaits.
A passion so powerful that walls crumble to their foundations.
Here the strongest fall to their knees.
The lost find their way back home, but the masses buy what will make them rich, feasting on lies, chasing their tails.
Truth be told, they’ll get what they were promised.
Crawling away, burning with regret, to the deepest, darkest depths of Hell.
We got news for you.
The day is soon coming when turning your back won’t be an option.
Keep telling yourself what you really don’t believe.
You can compromise what you know to be true, and you can turn off all of your senses, but in the end you’ll see nothing stands between a man and his maker.
No matter what it’s your decision.
This isn’t something you could do alone. Give up, give in no matter what, it’s your decision.

It seems to be addressed to athiests who seem very keen on sharing with everyone what they DON'T believe in. A blasphemer who has denied the Christian God and in turn believes his rejection of such an entity removes him from the final wrath of God...as if he is almost exempt.

Well, they "got news for you..."

;)

this song is sick man. this and back burner own. i think its about a person that has moral convictions but doesnt live by em cause they dont feel like theyr gonna be held accountable for their actions and hes tellin em "The day is soon coming when turning your back won’t be an option."...and then later on that no matter what "in the end you’ll see nothing stands between a man and his maker. " so keep living how your living but in the end youll be held accountable for turning your back on your values.

greatest song on the entire album

I think it's kinda about what metal-n-roll said, but they are turning their back on embracing Jesus. When he's saying "The day is soon coming when turning your back won’t be an option," means the last day when the Day of Judgement is at hand then it will be too late.

The song is more of a reminder to the world that God is on his way. Jake isn't forcing the world to believe in what he believes but as a strong believer, he knows what will happen to those who chosen the wrong path. This song is a eye opener.

I got a chance to talk to Jake for a while about the lyrical content of this CD at a show.
So, he told me that song is about the imminent return of Jesus, and how we have been given a choice to follow Him and live with Him in all His glory in Heaven, or to reject Him and "get what [we] were promised", which is eternal separation from God and all good things.

God loves us so much that He respects our choice. But, as Jake says, in the end, God will do what is just. He sent His son to die so that we may live, and by the end, it will be too late to decide. So, Jake wants us to understand now, before it is too late.
