Disarray Lyrics

I faced my demons
Wrestling these angels to the ground
And all that I could find
Was a thin line between
All the saints and villains
it was crossed in my own mind

Someday I'm gonna find it
Wish I knew what I was looking for
Inside the disarray (inside the disarray)
I woke up this morning
Don’t know where I’m going
But it’s alright
I wouldn't have it any other way

Struggling between the facts and fiction
I’m alone
But I'm alive
Everyone around me is trying to make a statement
Then there’s me
I’m just trying to survive

Someday I'm gonna find it
Wish I knew what I was looking for
Inside the disarray (inside the disarray)
I woke up this morning
Don’t know where I’m going
But it’s alright
I wouldn't have it any other way
If this was any other day
I pretend to know where I stand
I Just don’t know (just don’t know)
I Just don’t know

Someday I'm gonna find it
Wish I knew what I was looking for
Inside the disarray (inside the disarray)
I woke up this morning
Don’t know where I’m going
But it’s alright
I wouldn't have it any other way
Someday I will find it
Wish I knew what I was looking for
Inside the disarray (inside the disarray)

It's simple, the persona is looking for something...possibly a relationship but he's not sure exactly what kind or something like that. Needless to say this could be anything, but religion...he's actually searching for whatever allows him to ease his mind.

"Struggling between the facts and fiction I’m alone But I'm alive Everyone around me is trying to make a statement Then there’s me I’m just trying to survive "

That line right there tells me it has nothing to do with religion and the wrestling with angels simply means to me that he's realized religion has caused more problems for him than it ever helped. I myself have experienced that feeling before and losing my religion was prolly the best thing I could have done, had to do that before I could find my own meaning.

I like this song... it's very real. I feel it reflect a little bit of uncertainty, someone trying to find their place in life. They are trying to trump evil and do good, but in life they see that theres such a thin line between the two that it makes the battle that much harder. He sings about everyone around him trying to "make a statement" while he's just idling around: that's like a lot of people. They see others doing things with life, knowing their boundaries, knowing their viewpoints, but then they look at themselves and they're completely unsure. Definitely an identity crisis song.

But in the end I think he accepts that he doesn't know what he thinks, but is just sort of rolling with the punches?

i think this song could be about how somebody felt before he/she found God. everyone around this person knedw what they stood for but this person was just trying to make it through the day. he or she wanted something to live for.

i think viva has a really good take on it as well.

I agree with pretty much everything Viva has said. I don't think there's anything in the song that points to his reference of angels and demons as a comment on religion. They're simply common images used to express good and evil, just like saints and villains. To insinuate that he's saying religion is bunk is a pretty big stretch in my opinion.

I take those lines to be saying something more along the lines that good and evil can many times be almost indistinguishable. Somebody can do something that turns out terribly, but if they were only doing the best they knew how, does that make them evil? And somebody can do something insanely selfish, but even that can turn out for somebody else's good. Does that make the selfish actions good? Where's the line? That's what those verses mean to me at least.

I think this song was written from the perspective of a pastor's kid...or someone that has seen what the church represents...that the people in your life who are supposed to be angels...turn out to be the people that hurt you. everything gets crossed in your mind...your just trying to find your way...and you don't understand...but you keep walking.

I think this song is all about how he's trying to find his own identity. Like many people said, there's a basically a battle of good and evil going through his mind. To me, it's like he knows which side is right, but sometimes that line gets so blury. I think what no one really seemed to pick up on though is the i wouldn't have it any other way line. In my opinion, he's just saying he knows the world is crazy, he admits he doesn't know what the hell he's after, but the ride and the experiences he wouldn't trade for anything

everytime i feel sad and down, i listen to this song, then i can move on with my life. cause someday im gonna find it, someday im gonna find my way, someday everything will be okay.

i think everyone is correct because this song could be about anything in life, you know that life will take you somewhere and you will find many different things and people that are important to you but you dont really know what your looking for because you don't know what you truly want for yourself
