i left your bed like a dream you had
when your heavy eyelids started to split
and the light shined through
between your outstretched toes and onto your forehead
i couldnt grasp a word you said
you know you talk so fast when you're nervous
as if you fear that your thoughts will escape before you push them off your lips
you said before you go
just grab a coat
the weather man says its going to snow
so just wrap a scarf around your throat and keep your heartbeat constant so you veins keep warm
keep your tiny eyes closed
keep them stuck til i get home
just pretend that you're sleeping
'cause when you wake i want to be the first thing in focus that you see
you've got a camera lens in your eye sockets but its too late because we're already developing.

sara have you decided to leave your castle of pillows, blankets, and sheets
have you tied your shoes around your feet
to keep away from the cold concrete
'cause while i spend my days away at school
i worry that you're not keeping warm
so when the last bell rings, im rushing home
cutting through the neighbor's backyard.
but you've wrapped yourself in designer jeans
like the buldge you see in the magazines
i hope your fabrics spick, and double seemed
and keeps your finger tips inside of your pockets
keep your tiny eyes closed
keep them shut til i get home
just pretend that you're sleeping
'cause when you wake i want to be
the first thing in focus that you see
you've got a camera lens in your eye sockets
but its too late because we're already developing
its so cold out here
in new jersey
i told you to stay under covers
i told you so you would stay warm
its so cold out here
in new jersey
i told you to stay under covers
i told you so you would stay warm
its so cold out here
in new jersey
i told to stay under covers
i told you so you would stay warm
its so cold out here
in new jersey
i told you to stay under covers
i told you so you would stay warm
its so cold out here
in new jersey
i told to stay under covers
i told you so you would stay warm
its so cold out here
in new jersey
i, i, i told you to stay under covers
i told you so you would stay warm
i left your bed
like a dream you had

I like the feel of it. It reminds me of getting goosebumps when your body feels cold and warm at the same time and I really like that feeling. Also the idea of having someone there to comfort you. I cannot stop listening to this song, its so good!

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
