That's What You Get Lyrics
No, sir
Well, I don't wanna be the blame, not anymore
It's your turn, so take a seat
We're settling the final score
And why do we like to hurt so much?
I can't decide
You have made it harder just to go on
And why, all the possibilities
Well, I was wrong
That's what you get when you let your heart win, whoa
That's what you get when you let your heart win, whoa
I drowned out all my sense with the sound of its beating
And that's what you get when you let your heart win, whoa
I wonder how am I supposed to feel when you're not here
Cause I burned every bridge I ever built when you were here
I still try holding onto silly things
I never learn
Oh why, all the possibilites
I'm sure you've heard
That's what you get when you let your heart win, whoa
That's what you get when you let your heart win, whoa
I drowned out all my sense with the sound of its beating (beating)
And that's what you get when you let your heart win, whoa
Pain, make your way to me, to me
And I'll always be just so inviting
If I ever start to think straight
This heart will start a riot in me
Let's start, start, hey!
Why do we like to hurt so much?
Oh, why do we like to hurt so much?
That's what you get when you let your heart win, whoa
That's what you get when you let your heart win, whoa
That's what you get when you let your heart win, whoa
Now I can't trust myself with anything but this
And that's what you get when you let your heart win, whoa
Well, I don't wanna be the blame, not anymore
It's your turn, so take a seat
We're settling the final score
I can't decide
You have made it harder just to go on

I think this song is about being in love with someone even though your head tells you they're going to hurt you in the end. Your heart wins over your head and eventually you get hurt, but in a strange way people enjoy the pain because at least they feel something. <3paramore narrates my life
I love the lines "Why do we like to hurt so much? Pain, make your way to me and I'll always be so inviting."
I think it's adressing what a lot of songs kind of deny, which is that in a sick way we almost like to hurt a lot over someone we really care about, because even if they're negative emotions, it's a deep feeling of real passion for someone. In a way, we don't fight it a lot. I'm not sure if that's what they were pushing, but that's my personal opinion.
Excellent song. Hayley Williams has a great voice. :)
this song is really nice. hayley sounds absolutely amazing (: i have the RIOT! cd early hehe :P
This song is gorgeous. =)
I think the line is:
"Why Do We Like To Hurt So Much?"
paramore have improved sooo much. like musicwise and hayleys voice is growing more amazing by the second. i am so jealous. haha kidding.
paramore is probably one of the only bands whove released a better sophmore album than their first. all the bands i know cept this one had really bad second albums compared to their earlier stuff.
i totally agree with DreamersDisease. especially this part....'It's basically saying we hurt ourselves emotionally when we feel with our heart or follow our heart rather than thinking with our head'...i can relate to that there.
i love this song :]
This by far is my favorite song on the cd. I just love everything about it.
Anyways, this song was played at Hollister today and of course I HAD to start singing. Some really cute guy smiled at me, and then later asked for my number.
Thank you Paramore! haha.
:D
