Good lyrics. Unexpected from a pop singer. I like My December.

It could be about her life in the spotlight.. but at first i took it as just a hard time in her life and she feels like giving up and she can't get out of the low. Or something like that.. :P -Hayles-

This shows that she's not just a britneychristinaparis wannabe. She can write real songs that express real emotion that people can relate to. I love this song, it just expresses hopelessness, and feeling like something is missing, even if you don't know what it is. My December is really great. :D

This album is the first album Kelly has had a say in what goes on it. She has stated that even though she isn't the best songwriter, this album is completely and utterly her and that's all she wanted to put out. I'm so glad she has done this. She could have easily gone with the producers of 'since you've been gone' and this would have guarenteed number ones, but she's gone her own way and stayed true to herself. Good on her.

I don't think its really about being in the spotlight. I think its about her hitting rock bottom and feeling alone. Like no ones there to help her. And shes just down and sick of feeling like this.

I think she's talking about her life in the spotlight... The media are always watching her and always there in her face and she wants some time to herself. They're destroying her and she's trying to save herself.

I sometimes sing along to this song in a very heavy metal style. Seems more appropriate.

Shes hurting someone. She knows that she hurting someone and feels guilty but cant bring herself to do anything about it. she wants to stop but she just cant.

The song is really different from the rest of hers. Of course, the whole album is. But this one gets kinda annoying after the first couple times. The music is sorta out of place, and the "it's so damn cold" is obnoxious.

But still really well written. I've found that about the album- the music isn't the best, but the words are brilliant.
