Who's Got a Match? Lyrics
Which of the witches do you belong?
The one with the eye patch or the one who's highly strung
I know you can't trust anyone
How do you capture a photograph?
Put it to sleep pretend you're having a laugh
I know you thought you'd have the last
I'm a fire and I'll burn burn burn tonight
I'm a fire and I'll burn burn burn tonight
I'm a fire and I'll burn burn burn tonight
I'm a fire and I'll burn burn burn tonight
The midget is frigid I put it to you
Who's got a match I've got the petrol to set it too
I know I shouldn't have trusted you
It's making me tense when you're telling me
It's just the facts that don't compute the classic way
I guess I'm wrong again anyway
I'm a fire and I'll burn burn burn tonight
I'm a fire and I'll burn burn burn tonight

my guess is that the song focuses around misplaced trust. between whom is beyond me as are most song on the new album. Best line "the midget is frigid" lol. Brilliant!
Only one mistake in the lyrics its "it's making me tense what you're telling me"
It seems quite a simple song but it really works :)
I don't understand the ~"Which of the witches do you belong? The one with the eye patch, or the one thats highly strung"~ bit ??
@fergusss Replying to an old comment I know but regarding the witches line as I interpret it is essentially like saying: of the two types of witches, which one are you? The traditional evil witch of fairy tale (the one with the eye-patch), evil to the core or, the one who's highly strung, amodern, stuck up, materialistic and vain woman.

i think its like saying dont always trust who you think and dont judge a book by its cover where it says which of the witches do you belong the one with the eye patch which is the one that is a mean child eater or the one thats highly strung which is the one you think is fine but is just as bad
TUNE! First Biffy song i heard. Lead singer has a quality voice.
"Which of the witches do you belong? The one with the eye patch, or the one thats highly strung. I know you can't trust anyone"
I have no idea what it all means tho!
love it ! so catchy :)
its not @don't come through the classic way@ its "don't compute teh classic way" but class song all the same
Mon The Biffy
I've been trying to understand what this song means for a while, and i still can't get my head round it.
I think there's definitely a non trust element in there somewhere, but the witches line makes little sense, and "the midget is frigid" is just vergeing on ridiculous.
I do love Biffy, but i'm not sure this song really does anything for them.
Ok guys heres what me and my mate think. We think that it's a reference to macbeth. The scottish accent is emphasised, the reference to the witches, the references of trust and the thoughts of being wrong (we think theres a midget in there too but we cba looking lol) Anyway thats just what we thought.
Saw em live on jan 28th 08 when they supported linkin park!!! they were FUCKING awesome!
if you think about it, there's one very clever line in this. it starts with a joke: "how do you capture a photograph?" punchline: "put it to sleep!" and then simon follows it up by going "pretend you're having a laugh", referring to the pun he just made, and then he carries on with "i know you thought you had the last"....
that's good songwriting right there. shame the rest of the song is meaningless...
