Floorplan Lyrics
I want to draw you a floorplan of my head and heart
I want to give directions, helpful hints, what you'll be looking for
I know, I hold this loss in my heart forever
All eyes are on me now
I want your lungs to stop working without me
I think about writing you, I thought about calling you
What was I looking for?
What am I looking for?
I know, I hold this pain in my heart forever
I shouldn't go but I cant really help it when I feel this pressure
I shouldn't go when I feel this building
I want to give directions, helpful hints, what you'll be looking for
I know, I hold this loss in my heart forever
I want your lungs to stop working without me
I think about writing you, I thought about calling you
What am I looking for?
I shouldn't go but I cant really help it when I feel this pressure
I shouldn't go when I feel this building

I know I'll hold this loss in my heart forever i know i'll hold, i'll hold I know I'll hold this loss in my heart forever I know I'll hold I'll hold
this and Knife Going In are my favorite tracks for the new album. i love t & s
I think this about a relationship that the singer wants to have but as a character flaw can't commit and will "hold the loss in my heart forever.
she knew she "shouldn't go" but felt the pressure of a relationship and bolted and for leaving all eye on her, it's her fault it's over, she ruined a good thing.
but she did want it so much she wished she would draw her lover a floorplan to her head and heart so she'd be tamed, so to speak.
I really like this song.
It seems to me that this song is about remembering a loss of a relationship, forever.
No matter what, she will never forget what happened. And possibly what went wrong?
And she wants to draw this person a "floorplan" to show her that she is sorry... maybe? LOL.
i think this about loving someone but not knowing what they'd think about you bleh just i thought i could be wrong
I think it's possible this could be her longing to be with this person. She speaks of this "floorplan" because she wants the other to know her, to know what's in her head and heart, and to know what makes her happy.
The line, "I want your lungs to stop working without me," suggests that she wants them to need her, to not be able to breathe without her.
Though, although she wants this, she is too scared or shy to actually go for it. She won't say what she really wants or how she really feels even though it brings her pain to hold it in. She knows she shouldn't walk away from it, but she will.
It could definitely be about a break up as well, but I like this interpretation.
i agree with smileforthecamer. i think it's about wanting someone to want you, to need you. but you don't want to tell them how you feel, you want them to just know.
ah, so familiar.

I also agree with what smileforthecamer said.
this may be my favorite song on the album. i thought it was about someone who got out of a relationship that they wanted to keep going, but they just want the other person to understand how they're feeling. and they want to talk to the other person, but they just cant make themself do it.
and yeah, they want the other person to want them as badly as the person who's singing wants them.
i know these feelings too well.
