The Sweetest Wave Lyrics
I'll never understand
Why I have been saved
The sea sings its master plan
Over the waves
Sun rise upon the line
buckling drift
the path that I walked along
is lost in the drift
So far away from my home, will the stars return?
The wave of oppressive lights
this colourless storm
at peace with the thirst inside
away from the swarm
moments of peace will come
the wind at my heals
my body's lifeless age
is lost to its feel
so far away from my home, will the stars return?
Home is where I needed you, salvation in dreams
Heaven above me
Water below me
How can I survive this?
Swallow the sea
blood draining me too far
and I cannot stand it
and I cannot stand it
Anymore, and I cannot stand it
Anymore
Anymore, and I cannot stand it
Anymore
Anymore, and I cannot stand it
Anymore
Collusus returning
Mountain is singing
fish are fresh from the killing
Breath hitting me
return to the sea to sleep
he tries to command it (elanor)
He tries to command it (elanor)
Dearest hope has gone away
swaying out so far from me
golden to hair palm my sway
sweetest wave bring me home
Bring me home!
bring me home
bring me home
bring me home
Why I have been saved
The sea sings its master plan
Over the waves
buckling drift
the path that I walked along
is lost in the drift
this colourless storm
at peace with the thirst inside
away from the swarm
the wind at my heals
my body's lifeless age
is lost to its feel
Water below me
How can I survive this?
blood draining me too far
and I cannot stand it
Anymore
Anymore, and I cannot stand it
Anymore
Anymore, and I cannot stand it
Anymore
Mountain is singing
fish are fresh from the killing
return to the sea to sleep
he tries to command it (elanor)
swaying out so far from me
golden to hair palm my sway
sweetest wave bring me home
Bring me home!
bring me home
bring me home

First comment? Really? wow. This song is by far my favorite on the album. I think he thought he was going to die in the storm, and he's wondering why he's been saved. Eventually, he wants to gome home to see his family, the only thing that really matters to him. Great band, and I love the orchestra in the background, it makes the song that much more melodic.
I absoulutly love the piano in this song and i really want to learn it. I think he misses his home and family and he is fed up with all the pressure. And maybe he is realating the sea to somthing, snce the just about the whole cd has something to do with the sea. Maybe like his career and the ups and sowns of it.
I think you two have said it all on the meaning tbh.
And I agree, it's insane theres no more comments!
This is BY FAR the best on the album.
Love it =]

Great song, one of my two favorites in this album, next to "Into Oblivion (Reunion)". The strings and piano do a great job of complementing this song.
I see something different. If Colossus is mispelled he is a comic book hero from X-men. He was turned to metal in Dark Saga battle of the Phoenix (I pulled this off wiki, but have read the comic, good stuff)... Anyway... I think this is classic Odesseus... This is a story about a hero who wants to go home. What home is is the ultimate question.
This song is about him never giving up on going home. I also believe that the fisherman has found his home in his wife, Elenor.
What this song means to me, is just a simple self-realization.. A person can find a home in anyone they love, and when they do, it's just to heartbreaking to ever leave it.
