Smoke Like Ribbons Lyrics

Smoke was pulled like ribbons from the windows of the car.
I followed the flash of silver from your teeth.
Above the tarmac the lights were icy green.
Buried in patterns in your chest, a quiet shimmering.
Little dipper, tiara-shine, song bird shivery, thin thin dime.
Smoke like ribbons....

Songs were pulled in ribbons from the window of the car...
Lost along the shoulders of the highway.
The cake walk dancers unwind from their spin
Singing 'lawty lawty loved him'.
Stark don't give a flat fuck.

the same way you can't really tell an evoking anecdote about a shooting star you once saw to someone who wasn't there you cannot feel camaraderie with someone who did not suffer through the same things you have. for me it all comes down to the idea "oh thats so classic me" when you look back on your life no matter how good or bad you perceived something was at the time you still see yourself in every experience. thus creating an almost sociopathic intoxication with your own pain, or maybe just the idea of it is intoxicating enough to inspire you to create more memories

although i don't think its necessarily about the extremities of human emotion it could be about momentum which is dependent on life's ups and downs depending on how you look at it
