You're Only Young Once Lyrics
Cheers to the day I'm on my way
I'm living inside with the words you say
Its killing me
How youre always bringing me down
So put to rest this breath that I cant forget
These marks just left on the side of his neck
Its killing me now
Youre always bringing me down
You never learn to expect the worst
It always takes just the slightest little turn
To open up your eyes
And though it seems like we're all you changed
Youll never learn cos youll always be the same
Predictable inside
The way you are
Its not your fault you knew that
The way we were
So young and caught up in it
Too far to see how fakes can be
I thought I knew who you were
You never learn to expect the worst
Youre falling short of every line that youve rehearshed
Its opened up my eyes
And now youll see that we've grown to change
A contradiction to the lives that we have made
Still i miss you deep inside
The way you are
Its not your fault you knew that
The way we were
So young and caught up in it
Too far to see how fakes can be
I thought I knew who you were
Just close your eyes and dream of how you want your life to be
A better way, don't run away from all that you can see
Just trust that yours is long
The way you are
Its not your fault you knew that
The way we were
So young and caught up in it
Too far to see how fakes can be
I thought I knew who you were
The way you are
Its not your fault you knew that
The way we were
We're just so caught up in it
Too far to see how fakes can be
I thought I knew who you were
I thought I knew who you were
I thought I knew who you were
I'm living inside with the words you say

Where the hell has the 'edit' link gone?
I've realised some of the words are wrong...
perfect song about high school. fake people and everybody dramatizing change. i like it :]]
wow. not a lot of people comment about this song, do they? anyway, i LOVE this song. the chorus is great.
:D
I LOVE THIS SONg! why isn't it a hit? it's great.
I love how it starts out and then the rest of it is just so great.
haha but i didn't realize everything they were saying until i looked at the lyrics. (some parts were hard to understand)
isnt it supposed to be about the meaning! (: i think could be about a surface relationship, a fake one, this person is moving on, and the other person will always be the same and hasnt changed? 'Too far to see how fakes can be'...too late to deal with fakes. the one faking the freindship? i dontknowww.
Just trust that you'll be strong And lay your life on the line
those lyrics need adding
i think this is about a young relationship and they broke up for reasons. then she changed and now wants nothing to do with him. he misses her inside, but hides it so he doesnt look stupid chasing behind her. and now that she has changed so much, he thinks that she was just being fake all along to him when they were together. he thought he knew who she really was.....
Great song, but who's the girl singing in the background? Last time I checked there isn't any girls in Amber Pacific.
ever
I think this song is about a relationship that started when the singer and his significant other were very young, perhaps in high school or even college. They had what they thought was an amazing relationship ("So young and caught up in it.")
However, as they got older, they both changed and began to drift apart, through no fault of their own ("The way you are / It's not your fault; you knew that"). The singer feels that the other person is completely different than the girl he fell in love with. He laments that neither of them could see it coming ("Too far to see how things can be") and that "I thought I knew who you were". The best thing for both of them to do is to end the relationship, since they are both completely different people now ("Just trust that you'll be strong, and just let your life move on."). Still, the singer misses what he had "deep inside."
Unfortunately, this happens a LOT with people that get into relationships and marriages early in life. Ask me how I know...
