It is definitely "Hand-shaped drugs". A hand has five fingers. Marijuana plants have five leaves. It's food and drinks and weed.

No one's posted any idea of what the song means. It's extremely deep and difficult to develop a theory. It's about Philosophy of Life. The chorus is asking blatant questions. "Soon we'll be living in the future" is just a meaningless saying pointed to Philosophy. "I'm dying", he could possibly be asking these questions to God or people to find out what happens when he dies (The ultimate question of Philosophy). We're hiding what we think and just getting by.
I tend to read way too into things, I could be way off. But I'm interested, so help me if I'm wrong.
I'm gonna go for a long shot with one:
He's asking someone to take a risk with him and just stay with him. They're going through some tough stuff, but if they just stick it through things will be fine, and (soon) in the future they'll be happy again.
