It Is As It Was Lyrics

The Ones who made us
Are always looking for the ones who made them
The Ones Who contain us
Are always looking for the ones who made them

Encounters
The Third Kind
Look there’s a hanging I think The Callers a red ?wide?
Three tries you won’t die
Beat on a stone
Serve follow and sell your pride

The Ones who made us
Are always looking for the ones who made them
See I want to contain it
But they are always looking for the one
And I’m Sorry

I’m Sorry that they didn't tell you about the world
And I’m Sorry
I’m Sorry that they didn't tell you about the world
We're so sorry

The Ones who made us
Are always looking for the ones who made them
See they want to contain us
But they are always looking for the ones
That I’m Sorry

I’m Sorry that they didn't tell you about the world
And I’m sorry
I’m sorry that this Seizure told you about the world
And I’m sorry
I’m Sorry that they didn't tell you about the world
And I’m sorry
I’m Sorry that they didn't tell you about the world
And I’m sorry

I’m Sorry that they didn't tell you about the world
And I’m sorry
I’m Sorry that they didn't tell you about the world
And I’m Sorry

No, we’re So Sorry
No

Sorry that we didn’t tell you about the World
We're So Sorry

The night
The Children look to the stars for guidance in their lives
We're human, frustration
Is Faster Then bats for the to name is to compromise

Encounters
The Third Kind
Look there’s a hanging I think The Callers a Red ?wide?
Three tries you won’t die
Beat on a stone
Serve follow and Sell your pride

I think this song is talking about the confusions of existence. Why are we here? Where did we come from? What is our purpose? No one really knows, so we ignore it.

I always interpreted this song as an expression of dissapointment in parents and authority figures. I know that sounds terribly emo - but it makes sense, with the lyrics.

"The ones who made us are always looking for the ones who made them" seems to describe our preoccupation with the people who made us and raised us - our mothers try not to turn into their mothers, as we try not to turn into them. And the repeated line "Sorry that they/we didn't tell you about the world" shows how our parents failures become our own. Et al.

Most of the Lyrics of this song Derived from the movie "AI - Artificial Intelligence" which is going with the destroy the robots theme. I believe the song is about the human condition, always searching for answers to everything and a reason for human existence and trying to achieve the impossible, thats also roughly what the movie is about.

along all those lines... if i look at it simply & don't try to analyse the verses. from 'so sorry they didn't tell you about the world.. we're so sorry we didn't tell you about the world.' it's just like a cycle. it's like you grow up not having being warned of all the world's harsh realities & you're resentful for it but then you have kids yourself & you can never seem to quite find the right way, the right words to explain how it is or how it'll be for them so they grow up & experience it for themselves & in turn resent you.. so the cycle continues.
