Who We Are Lyrics

Live my life
Around the pictures
Taken when we met
Spending all of my time
Chasing your silhouette

For all we go through
I don't wanna change you
Despite my running in reverse
Trying not to forget
Who we were
Inside
And here we go

We break
And we bend
Turn it inside out
To take it back
To the start
And through the rise and falling apart
We uncover
Who we are

Struggling with my thoughts
Change the locks inside my head
Reading in between the lines
Of what you say and what you said

I turn the radio on
To drown it out
Driving through the night
You know we're
Trying to forget
Who we were
Inside
And here we go

We break
And we bend
Turn it inside out
To take it back
To the start
And through the rise and falling apart
We uncover
Who we are

And it’s all
Silhouettes
And it's all in our hands
We talk through the winds
And it's all in our hands

We break
And we bend
Turn it inside out
To take it back
To the start
And through the rising falling apart
We uncover
Who we are (2x)

Mine says "Trying not to forget Who we were Where we're at And here we go"

"I turn the radio on To drown me out"

i think it s a reflective song on memories etc, it seems to indicate that he wanted to keep the initial memories rather than what he though after 'we break bend etc'

that people change and go through things and that we cen understand who we are (and who other people are) throuhg that, whether we like it/dont like it or its good/bad...well it could go either way, the verse seems to put a slightly negative spin on it and despite the chorus about falling apart it seems to be an upbeat and suprisingly positive song

Bless you, coleclark. Whoever submitted the original lyrics really needs to work on their ability to translate music to typing.

Anyway, I feel this is another identity crisis song, but about a couple. The couple goes through so much together, ups and down, good and bad, and through all of that they truly find out who they are. They don't have to resort back to "who they were" to figure out who they really are. They know who they really are after all they've encountered together because those struggles and rises have made them their true character. Wow, if I'm wrong I feel terribly stupid :]

its all good viva, a song is whatever you make of it or how the words relate to a certain part of your life, its pretty much impossible to actually know what the writer was thinking of without them telling you. so you cant be wrong :D

i dont know much history about the band members like whether jasons married or anything, but if we follow your train of thought then is it possible that jason was going through a difficult time that reminded him of the things that pulled his parent apart and this is about going back and fixing it before that happens to him? i really dont know what im talking about, im just throwing things around :P

and this still isnt out in oz! i cant find a release date on the album either...iv managed to find almost all the songs on limewire...but dont worry peoples! when the actual album comes out im def gonna buy it so they get their money!! :D

I think there's three main meanings in this song. The first is about the discovery in relationships, that relationships are a way to realize yourself "we discover who we are". At the same time, it talks about the tumultuous path of relationships, that in times of hurt, people are "Trying to forget Who we were".

The second meaning, i think, is the idea of words being misleading, deceiving, or just simply a bad indication of what one truly feels, as indicated in "Reading in between the lines Of what you say and what you said" What one person really does says, is not necessarily what one person wishes to say, or what one person really does feel.

As for the world silhouette that is brought up numerous times, i think it is an indication that love is intangible, that alot of this are uncertain. "Chasing your silhouette", could mean chasing someone who isn't really there, that the girl will never be quite his, or that he is chasing her shadow, that he is looking and yearning for the past.

Erm, i'm not sure, that's just my interpretation i guess.

What the song says to me is that the way we handle ourselves through the ups and downs of life is who we really are.

OOH! This song has a great beat to it! I think it means how this guys is talking about his girlfriend and his past with her and he wants to get back with her and he's proving to her how much they could mean to each other and how much he needs her. Love this song.
