Pollute The Sound Lyrics

Living out your life beyond belief
We've come so far tonight
It's on my mind, it's on the sheets

Turn away from making the same mistake I swear I'd never make again

We leave but through the night, beyond your needs
The summer wont last this time
It's on my mind, it's on the sheets

Turn away from making the same mistake I swear I'd never make again
You'll never make me hate you again as hard as you want me
As hard as you want me to

You know it's easy to let go
At least we need, at least we tried
To play to something never there

Turn away from making the same mistake I swear I'd never make again
You're making the same mistakes
How could I pollute the sound with you?
Pollute the sound with you

Yay, first time posting here. I lurked alot but..

I actually think the lyrics are missing a part.

The background vocals after "It's on the sheets". I believe something along the lines of "But she won't let me" is said.. But I can't be sure. I know atleast it says "But she".

But to me, it seems like it's trying to convey the message that he's been pushed to the edge of his self control. Something he loved doing, such as drugs maybe? But he was pushed to the point where he couldn't take it anymore. What would confused or even disprove this is "To play to something never there".

Regardless, I still feel it's talking about someone who was pushed farther than they could take, a choice of SOME type that was a mistake that he did again, even knowing it was wrong.

That's my comments anyways. I'm sure that someone has a much better, or even correct analisys..But I love the song. Awesome band.

Created an account just so I could post a comment. Amazing website though. I always use it, but never felt the need to make an account until now.

Anyways, his song right here is such a great song. I agree with ZeroYuy here about the vocals, but I think the background vocals sing the lyrics "but she won't help me."

But on the other hand, I have a different opinion to the song. I think he means that he's dealt with her problems for so long and he still can't learn from it. He seems to have some resentment towards her judging by the lyrics "How could I pollute the sound with you?" and "You're making the same mistakes again", but at the same time he feels that if he doesn't make a clear and ultimate decision, he'll keep ending up where he is: in a loveless or harmful relationship. Also, judging by most of the other songs on this album, it makes some sense. This is just my opinion. I'd love to hear what other people say.

Amazing song, Drist. I give it a 5/5.
