When We Were Young Lyrics
Funny how things just tasted better when Were were young
When we were young
Funny how things just seemed so easy When we were young
It's a been a long day
I wanna get out, I wanna go home
Is anything better, that you wonder for?
I think that we weren't always grateful for What you've done
When we were young
I think that we weren't always grateful for What you've done
We've come a long way
I wanna get out, I wanna go home
Is anything better that you wonder for
You wonder for
I wanna get out, I wanna go home
Is anything better, that you wonder for?
I wanna get out I wanna go home
I wanna feel better, can't make it alone
I wanna get out, I wanna go home
Is anything better, that you wonder for?
When we were young
Funny how things just seemed so easy When we were young
Is anything better, that you wonder for?
When we were young
I think that we weren't always grateful for What you've done
Is anything better that you wonder for
Is anything better, that you wonder for?
I wanna feel better, can't make it alone
Is anything better, that you wonder for?

To me, this song is definitely written to one of her parents. It is a reflection that she and her siblings didn't always appreciate the parent as a child, but that they now see everything this person did for them. Nothing makes her feel better than talking to this person on the phone, which means that she is probably living too far from "home" to go back easily.
i'm sorry, but i think the lyrics are wrong, again.... but cool song!! maybe she wonders how the years have gone by. don't know exactly what it is about.
this is an excellent track
The correct lyrics are as follows (from lyrics booklet):

Chorus: I wanna get out, I wanna go home Is anything better than you on the phone? (Repeat X2)
I think that we weren't always grateful For what you done, when we were young I think that we weren't always grateful We've come a long way (Repeat x4)
Chorus
I wanna get out, I wanna go home I wanna feel better, can't make it alone.
This is one of my favorite tracks from Are You Listening. I agree with isaiah4031, this was definitely written with her parents in mind.
Maybe it's as if she ran away from home when she was quite young, thinking herself all grown up and that her parents were preventing her from doing what she wanted etc. However, now she's gone she is starting to realise how much she took their love and support for granted, and is wishing she could find a way to go back. This song has TUNE...
