Funny how things just tasted better
When we were young
When we were young

Funny how things just seemed so easy
When we were young

It's been a long day
It's been a long day
It's been a long day
It's been a long day

I wanna get out
I wanna go home
Is anything better
Than you on the phone

I wanna get out
I wanna go home
Is anything better
Than you on the phone

I think that we weren't always grateful
For what you've done
When we were young

I think that we weren't always grateful
For what you've done

We've come a long way
We've come a long way
We've come a long way
We've come a long way

I wanna get out
I wanna go home
Is anything better
Than you on the phone

You on the phone
You on the phone...

[Repeat refrain]

General CommentTo me, this song is definitely written to one of her parents. It is a reflection that she and her siblings didn't always appreciate the parent as a child, but that they now see everything this person did for them. Nothing makes her feel better than talking to this person on the phone, which means that she is probably living too far from "home" to go back easily.

General CommentThis is one of my favorite tracks from Are You Listening.
I agree with isaiah4031, this was definitely written with her parents in mind.

General CommentMaybe it's as if she ran away from home when she was quite young, thinking herself all grown up and that her parents were preventing her from doing what she wanted etc. However, now she's gone she is starting to realise how much she took their love and support for granted, and is wishing she could find a way to go back. This song has TUNE...
