In Debt to the Earth Lyrics

Freeze off,
I don't envy your seats,
At least don't break until we descend
To peace talks,
Full of remorse,
But the keeper tends to remain aloof

They know what we'll lose,
They know what they'll lose,
Such unspeakable room,
Now that, what will we do?

The essence
Falling in tall,
This blinding forest won't bloody unfold,
Don't belong, this has to be told,
We weave our mazes, be in debt to the Earth.

And they know what we'll lose,
They know what they'll lose,
Such unspeakable room,
Now that, what will we do?

But with gratitude and fortitude,
We granted your enlightment,
The panic of this solitude is calling out until,
With gratitude and fortitude,
We credit your enlightment,
The panic of this solitude is calling out.

Forgettable
Peccable,
Just get 'em all
Peccable, just.

With gratitude and fortitude,
We granted your enlightment,
The panic of this solitude is calling out until,
With gratitude and fortitude,
We credit you x5

They know what we'll lose,
They know what they'll lose,
Such unspeakable room,
What will we do?

Just get 'em all
Peccable.
Just. (x4)

I think these are the correct lyrics:

Resolve I don't envy your seats At least don't break, until we descend To peace talks Full of remorse But the keeper tends to remain aloof

They know what we'll use They know what they'll lose Such unspeakable wrong Now then, what will we do?

Liaisons Falling in tall This blinding forest Will body unfold? Don't be long This has to be told We weave our mazes Be in debt to the Earth

They know what we'll use They know what they'll lose Such unspeakable wrong Now then, what will we do?

But with gratitude and fortitude We credit your enlightenment The panic of his solitude is calling out

Just get 'em all Pick 'em off

And I think it's definitely got something to do with the war or warfare in general.

See I thought I was the only who heard those lyrics. I'd always say, "Freeze off doesn't even make sense O_o" Some people would hear "Get A Bowl. Pack A Bowl". The lyrics to that part are lot more clear at the end when he actually enunciates and draws the words out. I wish the lyric sites would correct this stuff. I tried to submit corrections ages ago and not one site has changed them. Dorks.

I like that you came up with alternate possible lyrics ThisTypeofThinking...even if they may be incorrect, which i don't know, you are at least looking at the song as a fluid piece rather than judging it by someone else's standards...for instance...'Resolve' makes much more sense than 'freeze off.'

It seems this song speaks toward the dilemma, not of mutually assured destruction...but the dual attitudes of having the responsibility of nukes and weighing the temptation to assert power versus peacefully negotiate. Negotiation takes patience and coercion toward one's view through words, which can be difficult, when it is easier to coerce with threat of force, though harder to maintain in the long run without looking hostile. The song constantly changes viewpoints as if it were one's mental state debating between those two conflicting views, as if addressing a politician.

Can I say it ?

Its about M.A.D.

Mutually assured descrution.

And they know what we'll lose, They know what they'll lose, Such unspeakable room, Now that, what will we do?

I'm pretty sure the second verse begins with "Liaisons," not "The essence."

Otherwise this song kicks ass. I'm not 100% sure about the meaning, but perhaps its about how big corporations are slowly destroying the earth? Peccable means liable to sin, so maybe its saying these big groups know they're doing wrong but continue to do it anyway just to make money (this could go for rival bands too?).

IDK - one of the things I love so much about Chevelle is their lyrics can be interpreted in many ways!
