its amazing how far music can come.. 24 years after it released and its one of the most heartfelt songs ive heard
You're two-faced
all sideways
you're dry-eyed
and nightfly
your thin chokes
and splits spokes
you're high-staked
you're right-faked
your floor creeps
and deep sleeps
you catch up
you young pup
you old dog
you bullfrog
double X12
you drive paved
you close shave
you hardball
you held gold
you last heard
backward
you luck charm
you black diamond
your next kin
your lost twin
your short-step
your better rip
you cast light
you snapshot
yeah, you're my double shadow
you're my double shadowX2
you're my.. double
you're my..
double shadow
all sideways
you're dry-eyed
and nightfly
your thin chokes
and splits spokes
you're high-staked
you're right-faked
your floor creeps
and deep sleeps
you catch up
you young pup
you old dog
you bullfrog
double X12
you drive paved
you close shave
you hardball
you held gold
you last heard
backward
you luck charm
you black diamond
your next kin
your lost twin
your short-step
your better rip
you cast light
you snapshot
yeah, you're my double shadow
you're my double shadowX2
you're my.. double
you're my..
double shadow

Warren wanted a Beach Boys thing for this one, and Carl Wilson and Billy Hinsche came in, with Carl arranging the vocal parts. The other harmony vocalists (credited as the "Gentlemen Boys") were Jackson Browne, J.D. Souther, Zevon's longtime backers Waddy Wachtel and Jorge Calderon, and Linda Rondstadt/Stone Poneys guitarist Kenny Edwards.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Holiday
Bee Gees
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
Is it for sure it's "bullfrog...?"
Haha, no, it doesn't sound like 'bullfrog' I wonder what it actually is. And I always thought 'thin chokes' was 'thin jokes'
Anyway, it's a cool song to just groove to.
I always, thought "thin jokes" too. And there's no way it's "bullfrog"!
Sounds like "good fuck," not "bullfrog."<br />
I always just naturally assumed it was "good fuck," because it sounds exactly like that without having to look at a lyric sheet. Additionally, the song is called "Double Shadow," which I naturally assumed was a sexual reference.
This is what I'm hearing...
You're two-faced all sideways you're dry-eyed and nightfly your thin chokes = your thin jokes and splits spokes you're high-staked you're right-faked your floor creeps = you’re for keeps and deep sleeps you catch up you young pup you old dog you bullfrog = good fuck
