Timmy Lyrics

Oh my god there's his eyes again
Turn around and fake indifference
Then I'll watch his smooth black silhouette disappear

Too many bodies fill the club
Too many faces over done
Why am I here?
Why am I here?
Why am I here?
Why am I here?

Watch him leave the floor
My body's edging towards the door
I return instead
I'm not done pretending yet
Never done pretending yet

I'm indifferent.
Let me go
Gonna dance and think of him no more
Never, never understand the words I wrote
Never mind aheart thats broken right
He could never be mine
Something that I do is fight, fight it
I'm indifferent to you
I've got nothing for you

He stares at her across the floor
My undressed heart now an open door
He order drinks
Now the scene is falling through

Over there, they're not over there
Once empty corner now filled with her
Why am I here?
Why am I here?
Why am I here?
Why am I here?

Watch him leave the floor
My body's edging towards the door
And I return instead
I'm not done pretending yet
Never done pretending yet

I'm indifferent.
Let me go
Gonna dance and think of him no more
Never, never understand the words I wrote
Never mind aheart thats broken right
He could never be mine
Something that I do is fight, fight it
I'm indifferent to you
I've got nothing for you

Empty spaces and empty spaces
(empty spaces)
And rocking numbers
(and rocking numbers)
And I can't hear it

Empty spaces and rocking numbers
And reaching for the banister

I'm indifferent
Let me go
Dance and think of him no more
Never never understand the words
Never mind a heart thats broken right...

I'm indifferent
Let me go
Gonna dance and think of him no more
Never never understand the words I wrote
Never mind a heart thats broken right
You could never be mine
Something that I do is fight, fight it
I'm indifferent to you
I've got nothing for you
I've got nothing for you now
I've got nothing for you now
I've got nothing for you
Nothing for you now...

This song begins out like meg & dia's song "Roses", only changing aroudn some of the words. I think this song is also about peopel filling the club, and she sees the guy she loved and never had, but hes dancing with another girl, and shes trying to forget about him. So she dances to forget, in her last line, "nothing for you now."

what does it mean when she says "empty spaces and rocking numbers?"

i kinda thought that maybe he was older than her, and that might have caused their breakup, so maybe that's what rocking numbers are?

personally, i never even thought they were in a relationship though.

I think this song is about a guy she used to date/wanted to date, but maybe he broke it off or they couldn't be together for some reason. She's at this club, filled with people, because she knows he's going to be there and she wants him to see her. She's putting on an act like she doesn't care about him anymore. Its almost like she's trying to convince herself as much as him: "Never mind a heart that's broken right." He heart is broken over the whole situation and she really wants to be with him but is putting on this act like it doesn't matter. She sees him with this other girl and that he's buying her drinks and they're together. And she keeps wondering what she's doing there because seeing him is like torture. As she's watching this she's thinking about leaving, but as she egdes towards the door she changes her mind, she's "not done pretending yet" that maybe their relationship can work out. I'm not sure about the "empty space and rocking numbers part" but it might be either the emptiness inside of her, or the empty spaces of the club that are slowly being filled by people, or maybe that she's looking for an empty space to breath for a moment, maybe as she reaches for the banister to steady herself. The "rocking numbers" is probably the loud music, though I'm not sure. Then at the end of the song, maybe after she's stood back and had time to think she realizes that it stupid for her to be there because she can't give him anymore of herself and if he won't take it than he's not worth it.

I could be majorly wrong, but thats the basic gist of what I get from the song.

I heard: "you could never be mine. it's just something that I'd do, to fight, fight"

"never mind a heart that's broken, right?" <-- as in, what does it matter if my heart is broken, right?

I love this song.

and I loved bunnys's interpretation about 'rocking numbers' dealing with age. gave me a total new perspective.

as for the 'empty spaces' that no one seemed to really know what it was about, I figured that maybe it was the empty space inside her, the emptiness she feels because she's alone. Or maybe it's the empty space beside her at the bar, because, yet again, she's alone.

Why doesn't this have more comments? xx <3 :)
