Turn around there's those eyes again.
Turn around fake indifference and I.
Watch their cold, dark silhouettes disappear.
A hundred bodies fill this room.
And all their faces overdone.
Pain is foreign, foreign to us.

I don't even know you.
You won't even know I'm gone.
Was it something I did wrong?

Roses, roses cold.
Roses, roses sold out.

Turn around reds and whites again.
I'd sell my kicks for one more low tar.
Fevers hand in hand with shoelace bracelets.
Why are some girls so naive?
He didn't unbutton your blouse to see.
A better view of your heart.
Oh yeah, can't blame you for trying.

I don't even know you.
You won't even know I'm gone.
Was it something I did wrong?

Roses, roses cold.
Roses, roses sold out.

Sing it soft.
Make it slow.
Apples parachute
the boys back down.
Fill it up.
Overflow.
A new, improved modern way to feel.

I don't even know you.
You won't even know I'm gone.
Was it something I did wrong?

Turn around there's those eyes again. Turn around fake indifference and I. Watch their cold, dark sillhouettes disappear. A hundred bodies fill this room. And all their faces overdone. Pain is foreign, foreign to us.

---She is in a room with a bunch of fake people. --- They are cold and dark. ---Their makeup is overdone and fake. ---They don't feel pain.

I don't even know you. You won't even know I'm gone. Was it something I did wrong? Roses, roses cold. Roses, roses sold.

---She doesn't know her lover anymore. ---He's so unaware of her presence anymore. ---She wonders what made the relationship die. ---The roses he once gave her are cold, she's looking at them, remembering But now they are cold.

Turn around red and whites again. I'd sell my kicks for one more low tar. Fever hand in hand with shoelace bracelets. Why are some girls so naive? He didn't unbutton your blouse to see. A better view of your heart. Oh yeah, can't blame you for trying.

---She remembers how naive she had once been to fall in love with the boy she did. She is now giving future advice to all girls to not let boys get what they want. ---She can't blame them for trying, because that's exactly how she once was.

I don't even know you. You won't even know I'm gone. Was it something I did wrong? Roses, roses cold. Roses, roses sold out. Roses, roses cold. Roses, roses sold out.

---The roses are cold. ---He needed to bring her a rose, but they are sold out and there are no more.

Sing it soft. Make it slow. Apples parachute the boys back down. Fill it up. Overflow. A new, improved modern way to feel.

---The way she is thinking is a new way to feel. --Apples(butts) make the boys come to ya. ---Fill it up, your fakeness, and overflow it. ---This way, your fakeness overtakes your true feelings.

I don't even know you. You won't even know I'm gone. I don't even know you. You won't even know I'm gone. Was it something I did wrong? Was it something I did wrong? Was it something I did wrong?

---She stills questions the relationship, and whether it was her fault or not. ---She claims to know the boy anymore, or what he has become.

WOW. I'm prolly so wrong, it's not even funny. But come on, tell me you're opinion. Help me out, cause that's what I got from the song! Hope this makes some people feel good, or better. ILOVEMEG&DIA. Alright, peace guys.

This song, to me, sounds like a pretty flower girl selling roses in a club.

"A hundred bodies fill this room, and all their faces overdone. Pain is foreign, foreign to us." The first thing I thought: dance club. People there are doing heroin or something, hence "pain is foreign to us" LOL

"I'd sell my kicks for one more low tar." Kicks are shoes, low tars are a kind of cigarette.

"Why are some girls so naive? He didn't unbutton your blouse to see a better view of your heart." Haha, I love this line. It's so playful. Basically what she's saying is "he didn't take off your shirt so he could see your heart better, he just likes the b00bage"

:] Feel free to correct me.

Claret, thank you for clarifying what I didn't. ---She is saying when she was young, she would of selled her shoes for childish ciggaretes. ---Shoe lace bracelets are of childish memories and childish things. She was hand and hand with her boyfriend.

AHHHH. Once again, amazing song! Love

--She’s at this party and see’s this amazing guy. She continues seeing him. But as the party fades, he and her start talking. He’s apparently lying.. About his life and everything..

I don't even know you. You won't even know I'm gone. Was it something I did wrong? Roses, roses cold. Roses, roses sold.

--He’s in a matter of ways(see second verse) gotten all he wanted and they broke up. She blames her self. He rose was lost. Sold so to speak.

Turn around red and whites again. I'd sell my kicks for one more low tar. Fever hand in hand with shoelace bracelets. Why are some girls so naive? He didn't unbutton your blouse to see. A better view of your heart. Oh yeah, can't blame you for trying.

--She’s talking about childhood memories. How she wishes she would be a kid again with a level head. And how she wishs she could turn back around and stop him.

I don't even know you. You won't even know I'm gone. Was it something I did wrong? Roses, roses cold. Roses, roses sold out. Roses, roses cold. Roses, roses sold out.

i got out of it that some dude has done them wrong, and he goes on and does other girls wrong. she knows this, and it pisses her off. like when she says 'why are some girls so naive?/He didn't unbutton your blouse to see. i think she's mad that this guy who cheated on her goes around doing the same thing to other girls, and she's also kind of blaming herself when she shouldn't be. i got that when she said 'was it something i did wrong?' hey, thats me. :P

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
