Drop me off Lyrics

hey, we should crash the party on christmas eve
hey, we should write our name on every wall we see
hey, we should break our wallets at every bar
hey, we could break the bed without broken hearts
la la la la
and we could leave the lonely and lost
to their lonesome hearts
don’t just stand there with your face in your hands
don’t just stand there
clean up your broken glass!

hey, we should crash the party on new years eve
hey, we should write our name on every wall we see
la la la la
and we could leave the lonely and lost
to their lonesome hearts

don’t just stand there like a ghost in my room
don’t just stand there with that same old t.v. set
don’t just stand there pointing out west
and don’t stand there telling me i’m nothing

don’t just stand there just tell me i’m something
don’t just stand there just tell me i’m something
don’t just stand there i am something

Thanks for posting -- this is actually "Lost to the Lonesome"

Personal favorite -- on the surface a call to action to dispense youth energy like airborne roman candles. Not all problems are fixable, making it easier to live the urban hermit lifestyle, but new chances/opportunity/life exists outside the television/living room.

The "pointing out west" line may refer to the band's Brooklyn home and to the westward Manhattan skyline and lights. It's a common theme that scenes often develop right outside the supposed cultural epicenter (ie Brooklyn, Long Island, NJ). Though Brooklyn's a borough and the others aren't, this is one more example of fine "cultural satellite" writing. Good work Pela -- can't wait for more songs from them.

In a sleep i see a scene a sea of comfort and serene we’re walking through some fields of glass up to our waist into our past watch the road girl you are driving you’ll probably kill us both or drop me off there at the corner it’s better if we don’t

but you are the fortunate one in this song you are the fortunate one so wake up, wake up

we should make a holiday cause we probably seen it all and if my name is dead weight it’s been carried on too far

up came the windy night don’t ask me about the cold ones cause i was saving up my stares and bouncing them off no one so turn your head girl you are driving you’ll probably kill us both or drop me off there at the corner it’s better if we don’t

you are the fortunate one in this song you are the fortunate one in this song you are the fortunate one so wake up or leave
