@aniiwhoo Yes that's correct.. They were first signed to a Christian Rock music label, and they have said in interviews that they "do have their faiths, but that's not what we are about", basically. Moralistic, for sure. and thats a good thing. Christian band? HAHA no.

Couldn't you look at this in a different light. Like their take on society. a straight jacket doesn't allow you to move. There for straight jacket fashion, is the conformity of people. now i'm not emo at all to clarify.
"quietly your over rated any how" -- how over rated other music and how they are funneled to have people like them. it kinda goes with trexaur's thought.

Wow. This is not only my favorite Vena Sera song but my favorite Chevelle song as well At first I thought this was about crazy people or something. Whenever I listened to it I thought of Hannibal but I looked into the lyrics more. I believe it is about religion and how people may rely on it too much or let it ruin they're real lives and turn them into Jesusfreaks. It's pretty much exactly my view of religion. It's a waste of time, no offense to those who disagree and in the title, straight jacket may refer to how religion is only putting restrictions on your life

i dont know how to interpret this song, it can be taken in many ways but i see it as how people try to do anything to get attention. how people even act or go crazy trying to get attention the other "colorful" or normal people who are happy with what they got survive because they dont put their lives in danger craving for attention. yet everyone gives attention that shouldnt be there (overrated) to the people who are crazy
I think its talking bout not following what others do but to do things for yourself, "we last because were colorful" guess that means that people will remember you if ur different

im having difficulty trying to explain my interpretation but i think its about being part of a bigger image and how they are different than some of the "fools" and there are too many of them and its affecting the image in a negative way.
they are "colorful' because they are meaningful, creative, and have a positive affect on the image.

It's dealing with homosexuality and how gay people sometimes think they're better than straight people because straight people don't broaden up their horizons as a gay person does sexually. @brandon172 Read my comment above man, cos you're on the right track. A StraitJacket (not straight jacket), is WHITE and not COLORFUL. It's about freedom, without restraints, to be what you are because the "fashion" or "norm" is NOT to have that freedom.

I'm getting a vibe that it could also tie into being about somebody that thinks very highly of themself. To the point that they are going insane with it. I like the line:
