Albertine Lyrics
Albertine
I am sitting still
I think of Angeline
Her mother's voice over me
And the bullets and the war
Where it fell silent
And on a thousandth hill
I think of Albertine
There in her eyes
What i don't see
with my eye oh
Rwanda
Now that I have seen
I am responsible
Faith without deeds is dead
Now that I have held you
In my own arms
I cannot let go till you are...
And I am on a plane
Across a distant sea
But I carry you in me
In the dust on... the dust on... the dust on... the dust on.... the dust on....
My feet
Rwanda
Now that I have seen
I am responsible
Faith without deeds is dead
Now that I have held you
In my own arms
I cannot let go till you are...
I will tell the world
I will tell them where I've been
I will keep my word
I will tell them, Albertine
Rwanda
Now that I have seen
I am responsible
Faith without deeds is dead
Now that I have held you
In my own arms
I cannot let go till you are...
And I am on a stage
A thousand eyes on me
I will tell them, Albertine
I will tell them, Albertine
I think of Angeline
Her mother's voice over me
And the bullets and the war
Where it fell silent
I think of Albertine
There in her eyes
What i don't see
with my eye oh
Now that I have seen
I am responsible
Faith without deeds is dead
Now that I have held you
In my own arms
I cannot let go till you are...
Across a distant sea
But I carry you in me
In the dust on... the dust on... the dust on... the dust on.... the dust on....
My feet
Now that I have seen
I am responsible
Faith without deeds is dead
Now that I have held you
In my own arms
I cannot let go till you are...
I will tell them where I've been
I will keep my word
I will tell them, Albertine
Now that I have seen
I am responsible
Faith without deeds is dead
Now that I have held you
In my own arms
I cannot let go till you are...
A thousand eyes on me
I will tell them, Albertine
I will tell them, Albertine

i saw her live and she said that this song was about a girl named Albertine she met while in rwanda and she promised some guy that she would write a song about the girl
I think these words are beautiful. I haven't heard the song yet but i will. 'Faith without deeds is dead.'
it's more than that....now that she's such things, she feels responsible. she wants to tell the world what she has seen....
=D ... it's about an orphan that changed her whole life perspective while she was in Rwanda.
this song is so powerful... she uses a lot of illustration in the verses... expresses Christian mission in the chorus, quoting James ... and I really love how strong her vocals became as she came into the bridge... then took it back down to finish the song.
she's one my favorite hillsong-ers lol
the song acutally goes
and the bullets in the wall where it fell silent
what i dont see with my own
