Miniature Christmas Tree Lyrics
Out of line, we are fools,
To be under the night light again.
And I, I admit,
We have come so far from the good fight.
Please, please just do something sweet
And keep it simple, keep it shallow.
Don't, don't you dare say a word
That'll shake up, shake up my bones
Woah, woah.
Put your back into it,
Put your back into it.
Woah, woah.
You can do better,
You can do better.
Don't be disappointed
But your eyes will tell me everything
When you try to smile.
No one here is getting through to you.
Your eyes have been deceiving
For another mistake.
Please, please just do something sweet
And keep it simple, keep it shallow.
Don't, don't you dare say a word
That'll shake my bones
Woah, woah.
Put your back into it,
Put your back into it.
Woah, woah.
You can do better,
You can do better.
Woah, woah.
Put your back into it,
Put your back into it.
Woah, woah.
You can do better,
You can do better.
Out of line, we are fools,
To be under the night light again.
And I, I admit,
We have come so far from the good fight.
Woah, woah.
Put your back into it,
Put your back into it.
Woah, woah.
You can do better,
You can do better.
Woah, woah.
Put your back into it,
Put your back into it.
Woah, woah.
You can do better,
You can do better.
To be under the night light again.
And I, I admit,
We have come so far from the good fight.
And keep it simple, keep it shallow.
Don't, don't you dare say a word
That'll shake up, shake up my bones
Put your back into it,
Put your back into it.
You can do better,
You can do better.
But your eyes will tell me everything
When you try to smile.
Your eyes have been deceiving
For another mistake.
And keep it simple, keep it shallow.
Don't, don't you dare say a word
That'll shake my bones
Put your back into it,
Put your back into it.
You can do better,
You can do better.
Put your back into it,
Put your back into it.
You can do better,
You can do better.
To be under the night light again.
And I, I admit,
We have come so far from the good fight.
Put your back into it,
Put your back into it.
You can do better,
You can do better.
Put your back into it,
Put your back into it.
You can do better,
You can do better.

i think the second verse goes
no one here is getting paid to act so please just save it for another mistake
anyway, i know kenny wrote this album about the darkest times someone can go through life, but this seems like the little glimmer of light he has to just work harder and get back on the right track. i'm probably way off, but that's knida what i think.
That is also a way to look at it, I didn't really think of it that way, but that's pretty cool.
The way I see it is it's about a couple [kenny and someone else?] who have just gotten out of a big fight, and things are a little shaky, but they're trying hard to keep things together ["put your back into it"] but they're still arguing, basically on the verge of a break-up
I'm not positive though, but whatever. I love this song.
at first when i started to read this lyrics. i thought he was talking about how he met someone in secret at night, and they were having some sexual conversation that got him horny. then he says 'put your back into it' and then 'you can do better' so i was like, 'WHOA!' you know, sounds dirty, but i guess not. and the spawthorgne. i know that you say it sounds like 'no one here is getting paid to act...' well, everytime that i think about the lyrics 'no one here is getting paid to act' i hear it! and every time that i think 'no one here is getting through to you' i hear it! it's like they recorded two things and put it in one! or i'm stupid! either way! it's find with me! anyway, i think listening to this song is making me go crazy. i mean mentally, but hey, you gotta love daphne.
