Collie Man Lyrics

And some man live his life
For profits alone
That very same man
He lives his life all alone
And the road to life
Yes it goes up and down
Doesn't really matter
As long as the music goes on
Hey mister collie man
Why don't you come round no more
Hey mister collie collie man
Don't you hear me troubled call
Hey mister collie man
Look i didn't come to disturb
You best not be come 'round here
Unless you've got me sensi herb
I never needed any
Reason for me to say
Through all them troubled times
Yes me love you any way
And the roughest path
You know the rocky rocky road
You know that
Life and love is a
Heavy heavy load
Hey mister collie man
Why don't you come 'round no more
Hey mister collie collie man
Dont you hear me troubled call
Hey mister collie man
Look i didn't come to disturb
You best not be come round here
Unless you've got me sensi herb
You best not be come round here
Unless you've got me sensi herb

Best stoopid song by far, only rivaled by 'closer to the sun' it's simple, but has an acoustic flow that could chill anyone out. It's kind of a mixture of philosophy, and the writer just wanting to smoke some sensimilla (sensi herb-the dankest of weed) I'm guessing it's about a weed dealer (collie man), who wastes his life and people only call him for his herb (which better be damn good). but thats just my theory... after all it "doesn't really matter as long as the music goes on"

Hit it right on the head, man. Great jam...

I think that ya it is about a drug dealer that because of his life style he is very lonely and people only the call him up( get it collie man= cally man like CALL get it get it) for drugs. and he doesnt really have friends only costumers. and he contines to do and deal his drugs because he doesnt think he can handle the 'rocky rocky road' of life without escaping to his drugs. (im not against drugs or anything but i just think that people shouldn't use drugs to escape the problems of their lives)

@hidden.in.sunshine dig the call insight

"And some man live his life For profits alone That very same man He lives his life all alone"

this parts definately has something to do with how lonely drug dealers are. how drug dealers dont have friends. the only people who call em are people interested in what hes holdin.

"Why don't you come round no more Hey mister collie collie man Don't you hear me troubled call"

thats def about callin up a dealer and him not bein there.

"You best not be come 'round here Unless you've got me sensi herb"

i feel like the singer is like callin up his dealer like doooodddd wheres that fuckin sensimilla!? and the dealers like pullin up at his house bein all like dude i got the schwaggg weed man some nice brown nugs here. so hes like dont come round here unless u got my fuckin sensi man.

Wonderful song. He shares his story about his drugdealer, who seems to be quite alone and only have eyes for profits. But yet, he himself isn't any more altruistic either since he doesn't want to help him out of his loneliness. He only wants his drugdealer to come around in troubled times, to sell him some weed.

"You best not be come 'round here Unless you've got me sensi herb"

"Through all them troubled times Yes me love you any way"

My Interpretation

when i would hear "collie man" i used to think more along the lines of "cali man"...except like he's saying it with a weird accent. but hidden.in.sunshine.'s suggestion makes sense too.

this is my take on it, it's probably over-analyzed but... maybe collie man is someone who was a drug dealer who did, for a while, live a profitable but lonely life. Eventually he gave up selling in order to see life more so from the perspective of the singer and be a happier person. And now the singer is looking for his collie man to score some weed, wondering why he doesn't come around anymore.

Another idea is that the singer used to be the collie man that he talked about, and realized that as much as he likes smoking, dealing took the simple joy out of it for him, the verses answer the question he asks himself in the chorus...maybe?

I think it's cool how this song's theme could apply to anyone, and it doesn't have to be in terms of drugs...we all have something in our lives that makes us feel somewhat pressured to oblige to, rather than spending time doing something that makes us happy. maybe at some point we all feel like the collie man with people waiting on us or cracking under the pressure we put on ourselves. This pretty much says that you should take time to do what you love. life goes on and whether you want it to or not, don't stress because looking back on hard times will make you realize how much you learned from them...at times it really is the rocky rocky road that leads to our defining moments

I think COLLIE_MAN got it pretty right, but I also think this song is telling collie man that he has all this weed so he might as well smoke it and chill out and not worry so much about profiting from it.

my favorite song by this band i also really like Officer and Sweet Honey

I think that this song is about him being mad because his dealer (Mr. Collie Man) doesn't have his pot and he's telling the dealer how even through the rough times (rocky rocky road) he still has bought his weed and how it's messed up how he doesn't have it.

This song is, in my opinion, about how life is rough, but a smoke'll chill him out, and he'll get through it no problem, only his dealer (Collie Man) keeps hitting him up without having any herb. I've also heard that this song s about his uncle, who used to sell him weed or something..I dunno...
