this whole song is about a girl and her parents, and she gets clean and sober for them which pisses off the person who wrote the song because he feels he's left behinde...and he thinks that she really wants to be with him beacuse he thinks she's ashamed of how she really feels. but he's in love with her choices and wishes he could be like her.

Says Shimon "I was dating this girl for a few weeks and she brought me home to have dinner and meet her Dad. Bad idea. I walk in with torn jeans, shitty hair, and a bad attitude, because I was in a rock band and thought I was great. This guy takes one look at me, and decides I'm never going to make anything out of my life, and tells his daughter to break up with me. So, the next day, she broke up with me. So I decided to take the pain from that and try and make a little money, and wrote a song about it. It's called "Asshole Father".

This is about the lead singer and his gf that he had in high school...he dated her for awhile..and went over to her parents house and when he met the father..the father didnt like him without evening knowing him..just by the way he looked...so after he left..the father told his daughter to break up with him..and the next day she dumped his ass...so he decided to make a song out of it.
