Sleeping at the Wheel Lyrics

Are we alone?
Should we even care?
Am I at home?
Would we know if we were there

Chorus:
If I could feel like I'm a winner
If I could tell you how I feel
If I could take what I've been given
Would I be sleeping at the wheel?
Sleeping at the wheel

Should I go?
Would you even care?
I'm still alone
Would it take away from me

Chorus
If I could feel like I'm a winner
If I could show you how I feel
If I could take what I've been given
Would I be sleeping at the wheel?
Sleeping at the wheel
Sleeping at the wheel

Yeah, it is. It's one of the two (other being Angel) new songs Aaron created that he plays at his solo shows.

I relate to this song because not only is it beautiful but I think he's saying that if he ever stopped to actually enjoy life and all he's accomplished, and just the subtle happiness life brings, would it be like abandoning everything he's gone through and everything that made him who he is? Would realizing a lot of his triumphs, would it cause him to feel more far away from the tribulations that got him to where he is today. I don't think he wants to forget anything or take anything in the past and present for granted by ''sleeping at the wheel''.. thats just my humble translation of the song, it is how I relate the lyrics to my life too.
