(Putting On The) Ritz Lyrics
If you're blue
And you don't know where to go to
Why don't you go where fashion sits?
Puttin' on the Ritz
Different types who wear a day coat
Pants with stripes and cutaway coat
Perfect fits
Puttin' on the Ritz
Dressed up like a million dollar trooper
Trying hard to look like Gary cooper
Super-duper
Come, let's mix where Rockefellers
Walk with sticks or "umbrellas"
In their mitts
Puttin' on the Ritz
Have you seen the well-to-do?
Up and down Park Avenue
On that famous thoroughfare
With their noses in the air
High hats and narrow collars
White spats and lots of dollars
Spending every dime
For a wonderful time
And you don't know where to go to
Why don't you go where fashion sits?
Puttin' on the Ritz
Different types who wear a day coat
Pants with stripes and cutaway coat
Perfect fits
Puttin' on the Ritz
Trying hard to look like Gary cooper
Super-duper
Walk with sticks or "umbrellas"
In their mitts
Puttin' on the Ritz
Up and down Park Avenue
On that famous thoroughfare
With their noses in the air
White spats and lots of dollars
Spending every dime
For a wonderful time

I can't believe only one other person has commented on this so far. I love this song. Shiny Toy Guns do good covers...
this is a cover, right?
i dunno.
but either way it's an awesome song. it's so weird haha but i love it.
It is a cover. My lord does this band do amazing covers..
oh yeah...got this song stuck in my head for a goddamn week...jerks
great cover though
i love this song, its a great song but i havent heard the original.
the song is about dressing up, "putting on the ritz" is a 1920s term for dressing fashionably
p.s. the "rits" part came from the Ritz Hotel, which was a famouse and expencive hotel, thus "puttin on the Ritz"
they did an amzing job with this cover. it's my favorite shiny toy guns song now. it reminds me a lot of young frankstein.

AAHHHmazing cover.
Haha, I love this song to death. Doesn't help I play it in my Orchestra, so I get it stuck all the time. xD Awesome original cover [though haven't heard the one-hit-wonder-dude version Shiny covered from]. I love how he imitates how they sounded back then, awesome awesome awesome!
This is one of my favorite Irving Berlin songs. Fred Astaire among many others have sung it. It was popular through out 1930's. There was a remake of it by Paco in the 1980's. It's a classic!
