I Looooove this song. It makes me think a lot about my past and just the tune and everything is so great. Amazing!

Bes song on the album for me. Seems to be about suicide. It's easy to lose control in the present world but we need to take a step back and see it differently, like when we were young. The last verse about the gun, blackness seem to point in this direction. Anyway, another amazing song by an amazing band

this song makes me want to never grow up.

To me this song seems to be about growing up and not letting the world get you down when you feel lost or hopeless. Just remember when you were young and how the world seemed then.

Its an all around beautiful song. Amazing.

I would have to disagree about the suicide part.

I believe it focusing on trying to stay innocent, like when you are a child. Buisness end of a gun...probably referring to violence and gang related activity, etc etc black, useless lungs - smoking...but im sure intended as a 'bad habits' metaphor.

but its not about suicide...or gang activity, although that would be closer. Its Eric's idea of the corporate world, which he mentions in multiple songs. Just the idea that a corporate job can kill you...except he makes it a lot more poetic

this part talks about how sometimes young people have the biggest dreams ever but when they get older they dont believe in themselves as much and settle for something less.

Business end of a loaded gun means that you should stand up for what you believe in rather than shooting everything you love just because "its business." Facing tomorrows black useless lungs and lies on tips of our tongues means simply that if you let others control your life and dont believe in urself and lose your innermost values, at the end of your life you will be proud of nothing. All the bad habits you got into and all the lies and falsehoods that you swore upon.
