Boy-Girl Lyrics

Boy-girl - boy-girl
When a boy meets a girl - boy-girl

Finding out
I'm finding out the things that I've been talking about
Finding out the things that I've been missing out
Finding all the things - I lose my mind
Sometimes fall behind

You and I
We live on the big ship and time goes by
You make up, and I believe a lady's lie
The skinheads call it strawberries and cream
Sometimes I scream

Boy-girl - boy-girl
When a boy meets a girl - boy-girl

We go out
A picture or a disco or around, about
I walk you home - I hold you there - you're giving out
I open doors so I can shut your face
Know your place

Boy-girl - boy-girl
When a boy meets a girl - boy-girl

You can take me in your hand
Stand back - leave me - come in

Up and down and all around
You will sideways to the ground

Boy-girl - boy-girl
When a boy meets a girl

Cover art for Boy-Girl lyrics by U2

The first U2 single. A very raw version was done for CBS records in 1978 and released in Ireland. The version on Boy was done later with Steve Lillywhite. A good example of young U2, exploring the themes of adolescence.

Actually, this isn't the first single! In fact it wasn't even a single. This song was released as the 3rd track of the EP Three, in 1979, that is before Boy (1980). Check...

The first single was Another day, followed by 11 o' clock tick tock. 11 o' was re-released in Under a blood red sky. Another day was never re-issued. I believe its very, and i mean VERY rare.

If you want to be technical, the first Island Records single U2 released was the original "Out of Control", on the Three EP, which this is, of course, a b-side of.
