Cue The Sun Lyrics

If I find my way through the darkest of days,
Will I laugh about the things that kept me awake?
But if my greatest fear paints itself so crystal clear,
Will I run away or will I hide?

And if I don't come home tonight,
Just know I tried my best to fight.
Please don't think I plan to lose to the night.
And curse the moon so dull and bright,
My heavy soul can't stand the light.
It burns me straight to the bones, my bones

In the desert sun I watched my nerves come undone.
One by one my strings they tangled into knots.
And ever since that day, deep in Santa Fe.
I've learned to hate myself for giving everything away.

And if I don't come home tonight,
Just know I tried my best to fight.
Please don't think I plan to lose to the night.
And curse the moon so dull and bright,
My heavy soul can't stand the light.
It burns me straight to the bones, my bones

And if I don't come home tonight,
Just know I tried my best to fight.
Please don't think I plan to lose to the night.
And curse the moon so dull and bright,
My heavy soul can't stand the light.
It burns me straight to the bones, my bones

this song is amazing. And beautiful. but here is what i think it means---there is someone with a lot of problems and he doesnt know wht to do, does he hold it in or not. I think he is talking about contemplating suicide, but he doesnt want to hurt anyone "And if I don't come home tonight, Just know I tried my best to fight."

see to me ....I get out of the song that one Is lost in what one should do...maybe one Is in love deeply and decided that they love this person but need to try to be on their own .. although in the end, It kills them and they regret ever making the decision to leave...

omg this is such a beautiful song!! im supprised theres not a lot of comments on here. i pretty much agree with everyone who wrote on this page. at first, hes talking about how he got through all of the bad things hes been through. and then he was thinking well he might laugh at what he did to get through them because they seem like such little problems now and he cant do that to get through this problem. then the next two lines are pretty self explanitory. then in the chorus hes talking about suicide and how if he doesnt come home, she should just know he tried. the line where he said "And curse the moon so dull and bright" is actuall really important because hes saying, curse the moon, because its so dull, but its also bright, as in like happy. and hes wondering why he cant just be happy. and then he just goes on to talk about how he was beating himself up because he gave everything away. soo thats what i think about the song. thaha im not sure if its right, but it could happen. :)
