Vision of Heaven Lyrics

Vision of heaven
Walking up here
On my own
Telegenic
Windswept day
Desolate

Left my white converse on the cold sand
Threw my mobile phone into the sea
I cannot be called or reached

Vision of heaven
No-one around for miles

Cut the wires and the cables
That run under the sea
The walls are white, the rooms are cruel
In the house where I worry
These days I just want to be alone
These days I just want to be alone

I cannot remember
The Lord's Prayer
I cannot remember
Oh but I don't care
I cannot recall
My best friend's face
Blurs and outlines
Eternal fall

Cut the wires…

Cut the wires…

I love this song, one of my favourite of Bloc Party's new songs.

Seems to be about wanting to escape from society and everyone just to find some peace for himself. The bit about throwing the mobile phone into the sea and leaving his white converse in the sand illustrates the detachment from modern society and from being contacted by anyone in an age when pretty much everyone has mobile phone on them all the time.

Great lyrics and a great tune.

I think this song is about running away from home, seeking a better place.

"Threw my mobile phone into the sea I cannot be called or reached" He doesn't want to be called or found by the ones he left behind.

"Cut the wires and the cables" Breaking contact with them.

Well, that's what I think, but it could be about just finding quite and peace in this world.

Great song by a great band

Brilliant song. It's just open to enterpretation for anything about wanting to be abandoned and wanting to escape the typical mod-cons of society. The subtle yet intricate guitars perfectly mirror the innocence of the vocals.

i think this track is about inferiority complex. it really describes the feeling and the struggle from within.

First line always reminds me of "Title and Registration" by DCFC, similar melody and rhythm. I love this song though, I think I prefer the b-sides to A Weekend In The City. This, Atonement, Cain Said To Abel, England, Emma Kate's Accident, and possibly Selfish Son could all have gone on the album. I think the album sounds a little contrived in parts.

Another great song from Another Weekend in the City (The B-sides and unreleased songs that didn't make it to AWITC).

Defintly about just leaving society for a while and being left alone, being simplistic. An easy song to get.

Get's you thinking about life in general huh? There's a few songs of BP like that and that's why they are my favourite band by 100000000 whatevers. They make every song special, even though this wasn't even on AWITC nor any B-sides (i'm aware of).

soooooooo many good memories I have are tied to the song. this song always reminds me of them. This is easily in my top 5, all-time bloc party songs.
