Falling On Lyrics

When you feel so close to some resolve
you write the words that you were writing for
but your courage gets dissolved
into what i don't know
when you feel that way again
you have to stop your thinking
think of what you're here for
and let the rest of your feelings go

you've got to find your balance
you got to realize
you've got to try to find what's right before your eyes oh
and if you find you're fallen
and all your grace is gone
just scream for me and i'll be what you're falling on oh

when you feel so close to some resolve
you say the things that you're standing for
don't let your courage get dissolved
cause it's then that the fear grows

you've got to find your balance
you've got to realize
you've got to try to find what's right before your eyes oh
and if you find you're fallen
and all your grace is gone
just scream for me and i'll be what you're falling on oh-ho

whoa
whoa-ho
just give me the word and i'll be there
just tell me the words that i've been living for
Just give me the word and I will be there
Just tell me the words that I've been living for
Just tell me the things you might have said before
It's do or die, this is either or
Just give me the word and I will be there
Just give me the word and I will be there

You've got to find your balance
you've have to realize
you've got to try to find what's right before your eyes oh
and if you find you're fallen
and all your grace is gone
just scream for me and i'll be what you're falling on oh

you've got to find your balance
you've got to realize
you've got to try to find what's right before your eyes oh
and if you find you're fallen
and all your grace is gone
just scream for me and i'll be what you're falling on oh-ho

I reckon that this song is about a guy saying that because of the girl and her opinions, they need some time away from each other. Even though he really wants to be with her, he's making the decision not to be because it's better for them.

"When you feel so close to some resolve you write the words that you were writing for but your courage gets dissolved into what i don't know when you feel that way again you have to stop your thinking think of what you're here for and let the rest of your feelings go"

This part means that they are arguing over something (maybe a recurring argument) and the girl is writing all these reasons for her side of the argument, but gets sick of it and wants to just give up and let him win to stop the fight, but he's saying that she just needs to stop and calm down for a bit, because he still wants her to stand up for her beliefs.

"you've got to find your balance you got to realize you've got to try to find what's right before your eyes oh and if you find you're fallen and all your grace is gone just scream for me and i'll be what you're falling on, oh"

Thie chorus is him telling the girl they need some time away till she realises the obviousness of the situation, and when she does, he'll be there for her no matter what.

"when you feel so close to some resolve you say the things that you're standing for don't let your courage get dissolved cause it's then that the fear grows"

He's telling her that she needs to honestly realise she's wrong and not just give in to him to just let him win and end the argument by not standing for her beliefs, because he wants her to stand up for herself, but also see the other side to the story.

"just give me the word and i'll be there just tell me the words that i've been living for Just give me the word and I will be there Just tell me the words that I've been living for Just tell me the things you might have said before It's do or die, this is either or Just give me the word and I will be there Just give me the word and I will be there"

After he's made his point he's clarifying and also saying that he wants to hear her tell him that she loves him, because he knows that if she still does, then everything will be fine, if not then it could be the end of their relationship -> "it's do or die, its either or"

Well, that's my take on it anyway. Sorry if its not too clear, kind of a complicated story to explain but yeah... Tell me if you think im right (or close)

No comments yet? I was just at their show last night (Finger Eleven) and everyone was singing this song when they played it, and it just sounded amazing. If you haven't checked out this song, definatly worth it.

Song is awesome, and i think its about a normal bestfriend loves bestfriend, and bestfriend doesnt see it, but his telling her no matter what she can fall on him..he'll be there.

so unrequited love you mean?

no doubt where are the comments?!

First, there is a missing bit of the lyrics. It's not just "Just tell me the things you might"; the bridge there should be:

Just give me the word and I will be there Just tell me the words that I've been living for Just tell me the things you might have said before It's do or die, this is either or Just give me the word and I will be there Just give me the word and I will be there

As far as what this song means to me? I have been obsessed with this song for a little while now. I don't know what was meant in the original writing of the song, but for me it is about unrequited love between two people who are still friends, regardless of the past they may (or may not) have had. To me, the lyrics are basically telling the other person involved that "Hey, I still love you. It's okay for you to still love me too, just tell me." Of course, I am in a situation right now which is similar to this, so I could simply be attributing the lyrics to my own particular circumstance. But there you have it.

Some people say some music has purpose more than the writer/singer intend them for etc.

For me this song is not about love maybe of god but nothing more...

When you feel so close to some resolve you write the words that you were writing for but your courage gets dissolved into what i don't know when you feel that way again you have to stop your thinking think of what you're here for and let the rest of your feelings go

For me feeling so close to God and the path that he put before you, yet you got deterred somewhere along the way. It's right in front of you the whole time, and whenever you think you got it in your grasp you let another side of you etch it away. Faith it's always there just need to hold on, like angels were fallen on to the track of sin so we've lost our grace call out god and he'll be there no matter what.

Interesting take. Everything's about a girl or drugs nowadays, so it's cool to see a different take.

I think this song is about somebody who's lost his way (be it to drugs, drinking, etc) and his friend is trying to get him back on track, no matter how bad he gets.

Off hand, I'd say the song is about the singers inspiration to write his songs, that spark he can fall on when he looses his way (Writers block)

First off, awsome song.

While not really a word for word interpretation, the first impression/ theme I got from the song was sort of a mentor and student thing. More in line with say, an instructor with a favored student that he/ she believes has some strong destiny to achieve.

Yes im pretty sure thats VERY far from its intent... I tend to think of things in the context of stories more than social issues though.....
